171 years ago today, at about 1pm, Ann Walker died at her home, Cliffe Hill, in Lightcliffe. We remember her today for her sense of humour, generosity to those less fortunate & how she defied convention to live with the woman she loved. Memorial Card, West Yorkshire Archive Service, SH:3/L/120

Glitch sorted and we’re on our way to reaching our £2,500 🎯 #forAnn

Ten years I ago I made a film about an am-dram theatre company battling to put on a pantomime against the odds - they had a tight deadline, next to no budget and a malfunctioning donkey costume. They made it magical - a Christmas miracle! I truly loved making this film vimeo.com/ondemand/panto

£1700 and counting. Thanks’ to everyone for donating, liking, sharing. Can we reach our £2000 target? I reckon so! Link ⬇️

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism. We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive

Compared to the list of Traitor Tot's pardons, hunter Biden is an absolute angel. See for yourself: rb.gy/lfkzsb

“Some 56% of farmland bought in 2023 was sold to landowners who were not working farmers. The revenue per acre is too low to warrant the purchase, unless you are extremely wealthy and are avoiding inheritance tax” 🚜🌾 vs. 🧐💰

Really excellent, considered guide to this issue. I am esp interested in mental health contexts, re: legitimate concerns over Canada situation, but also the striking benefit that simply having access to AD can have for terminally ill people, apparently acting as a form of palliative relief.

The Guardian published my letter: www.theguardian.com/society/2024...

To protect me from prosecution, my husband, bedridden, in constant discomfort, his senses failing, ended his own life alone and unsupported. it's too late for him, but we can still make it possible for others to have a choice in how they die. I am campaigning for change on Friday.
