Just gonna keep beating this tiny drum for a little while.

This is incredibly profound. I'm going to carry this next to my heart.

I’ll always have fond memories of what Rob did at the Alamo. But the potential of what he’s doing at the River Oaks is so strong and have so much room to grow. Houston, support the River Oaks Theatre! theriveroakstheatre.com

I'm always so relieved when I come across Americans who were truly affected by watching a genocide for 15 months straight. I'm not sure what's wrong with those who weren't, but I know they're directly connected to the predicament this country finds itself in today. You can't localize lack of empathy

House of Bone and Rain is a Bram Stoker Award nominee and I have no words. This is a weird, very personal novel, and seeing it in here with books I loved and authors I admire means a hell of a lot. Congrats to Paul, Stephen, Gwendolyn, and Josh!

Man, it's really fun just detaching your quote from somebody else's post instead of pointing out the multiple ways they missed your point. Very pleasant to do at 8am on a Sunday. Sometimes you just want to express an opinion without getting into a debate with a rando, you know? 🙂

buddha’s palm (1982)

At the OTHER SITE, terminal mass for a tweet was around 1000 views. Here, it's around 200. That's the point at which trolls and randos appear to restate what you said, disagree rudely or otherwise do stuff that would get them punched in the face IRL. Improvement? I actually don't think so.

I just want to say, as I'm writing this review, that THE MONKEY is incredible. It captures something that King adaptations rarely capture: King's sense of humor. I say this w/affection, but it's a bad little kid's sense of humor - the kind who thinks freezing a spider in your ice cube is hilarious.

I remember the first time I read "The Monkey" in King's SKELETON CREW collection. It was a really, really terrible summer. There's an image from it involving an old dog that I've never quite shaken and my anxiety watching Oz Perkins' adaptation was massively-elevated as a result of it.

They somehow distilled Ben Shapiro into tiny white plastic roller penis form.

I chatted with Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender once. As they broke away, Pitt asked if I wanted to take a selfie and I laughed and declined. They were taken aback. I said "I know where I am on the food chain and if I took a picture with you guys I would never recover any semblance of self-esteem."

So proud to have contributed a video essay to this marvelous new transfer of INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS courtesy @arrowvideo.bsky.social.

I’m a huge SHANTY TRAMP fan. You gotta see it!

Hal Hartley's TRUST (1990) is so beautifully arranged, so exquisitely written. It's obviously the product of a young artist - its edges are ragged - but can I offer they're ragged in a pleasing way. This was my favorite movie for a while. I sampled lines from it in the mixes I made for crushes.

This was the only thing I was looking forward to. I'm the guy in the tanker measuring the level of fuel in WATERWORLD.

Thrilled to have consulted on this New French Extremity box from Umbie; I have a solo commentary on Frontier(s) and another (with @joshnelsonfilm.bsky.social) on High Tension, with extras from some of my besties including @antbit.bsky.social @werematt.bsky.social and NFE Queen @alexwest.bsky.social

Did I talk with Martin Campbell this morning? Yes. Did I spend most of the time asking about NO ESCAPE and CAST A DEADLY SPELL and, yes, DEFENSELESS? Also, yes.

Alamo Drafthouse workers in Brooklyn do not fuck around 🔥

Thinking about that time I made a joke about Elon Musk in a script and a note came back ordering me to delete it to preserve the producer's relationship with Musk

I was fuming about something and this beautiful beast walked up to me and pressed her forehead against mine and stayed there until I was Bruce Banner again. We don't deserve animals.

If you, as a politician, cannot stand up to what you know are illegal overreaches of power, you are not doing your sworn duty, and need to recognize that you are not suitable for the job, elected or not.

In my decades of retail management (all in the past now, thank god), the #1 task was always to manage costs through managing labor. Interestingly, the solution was never to fire everybody which, upon reflection, would have saved a TON of cash by sinking the ship essentially instantly. Genius!

On set today. No biggie.

What was the first movie screened in the White House of the US president? The short answer is that we don't know exact titles but we do know some details. The year was 1908, the president was Roosevelt (Teddy) and the subject was birdlife of the Yorkshire dales.

When Carol speaks, you should listen.

There are people in my mentions who always wonder why I don't encourage people to go out to protest. To be clear, I am an Asian woman and a reporter on a work visa. It's already a big thing I repeatedly refer to the current situation as "national garbage fires" and a "hostile government takeover".

People died to give us our democracies, perfect or not… We should at least have the good grace & gratitude to fight for them.
