trans people are real and bathrooms and sports are made up. if you act like that's the other way around i do not have to hear your argument because it is based on a false premise

Human rights are for everyone. Gender is nobodies goddamn business. Fix your heart or die.

Hope anyone in need or homeless sees this

I'm gonna be real I am part of so many demographic and sociopolitical groups whose major crime is "being right too early" that it gets hard to see normal people as meaningfully my peers

Newsletter: We are in the era of the Business Idiot, where middle management has seized power, breeding out true meritocracy and value-creation in favor of symbolic growth and superficial intelligence. This piece ties together everything I've ever written. www.wheresyoured.at/the-era-of-t...

As I dip in and out of the news, I often think of the line from Joshua Idehen's "Mum Does the Washing": "Liberalism: you watch your mum do the washing and feel really really bad. “Something must be done” you say. Something may or may not get done" Yep.

There is not one single person donating to individual Palestinians or reposting their requests who thinks Israel’s blockade is good and should continue. So I can’t figure out who the audience is for posts like this.

Thought I might share a life story from a few months ago to brighten your day. Back in March, I spotted a raccoon on the side of the interstate that had very clearly been run over. I pulled over thinking I’d have to put it out of its misery. We ended up becoming good friends.

Doesn't everyone know someone who was diagnosed with late-stage cancer and dead within months? I'm not trying to be flippant but there's no way to know the progress of his diagnosis and disease except that the truth with cancer is that one minute you don't know you have it and the next you do.

Why does “learning to live with covid” mean accepting repeat infections as inevitable? Why does it mean throwing the vulnerable to the wayside, unsafe healthcare & mass disability? That’s not “living with it”. That’s giving up We need to adapt. Clean air, paid time off, masks in healthcare.

Please, no one tell me it didn’t look like this

your energy actually is finite and spending time fighting about the former president while the current president is putting this country in a wood chipper seems like a bad use of it

Also, I wouldn't call myself a Look Khunnoo mommie, but watching Fourth on stage is simply mesmerizing. He's a ball of charisma masquerading as a man and I don't know how anyone agrees to go on stage with him. He steals all the eyeballs. He is impossible to ignore. It's just incredible.

I am reading a very funny fic with a VERY sassy Namphueng in it, and it's compelling enough that I haven't yet watched My Sweetheart Jom, Knock Out or The Next Prince yet. I did wake up at 5 am for LOL Fest 2025 however, which was a good decision. I had so much fun watching live.

This is the only time in my life I’m gonna say … READ THE REPLIES 🫣

HEY #lawyersky. A very dear friend of mine in Kenwood (Seattle metro area) WA, needs a defense attorney. I would like to find her someone competent and who also specifically has experience defending trans women. Can provide some additional detail via DM.

I think a lot about how the disabled and chronically ill represent ONE QUARTER of the entire US population (and likely more because ableism stops people identifying as disabled). We’re one 1 of every 4 people you see. Think about how hateful society has to be to make that many people invisible.

“Just stay home” is not a public health strategy. Non disabled people were livid during stay at home orders. They found the idea of being forced to stay home unpalatable, yet they’re only too happy to demand the disabled do it for the rest of our lives. Clean air & masking make spaces accessible.

Chicago is great

ICE is the SS and will never be reformed

Nobel Prize winning science.

Take every bit of PTO you're owed, take sick time when you don't feel good, and don't work when you're off the clock. They don't own you.

Using police powers of the state to control, punish, or manipulate adversarial political actors is a hallmark of authoritarian regimes. In a democracy, a conflict between a mayor and the federal government would be mediated by the state, courts, and good faith actors, even if they disagree.

My pet gar that I donated to Shedd Aquarium would recognize me and swim over to say hi when I visited her exhibit ❤️🐠 A rare hybrid gar, I raised her since she was 2 inches long, and had to re-home her when I moved to Chicago. I was happy I could visit her in her new home! TO BE CONTINUED…

A Palestinian student arrested during an interview about finalizing his US citizenship helped launch a $1 million fundraising campaign to strengthen the legal safety net for immigrants in Vermont on Thursday, a week after a federal judge freed him from custody.

Chicago Pope actually being South Suburbs Pope while also being New Orleans 7th Ward Creole Pope is really quite something.

Pope Carrot III or Pope Kale III or Pope Chicken Thigh III

We're so insufferable in Chicago. We'll claim him but under our breath we're gonna be talking shit about his bullshit views on LGBTQ+ issues and his protection of child molesters. I love our insufferable city and its people, btw. We're also the best.

If you haven’t already pre-ordered your copy of THE PEOPLE’S PROJECT, we’re working on copy edits and the table of contents ALONE will have you shooketh. bookshop.org/p/books/the-...

When the question is, even in good faith, what should _______ do, if people won't pay/follow the rules, the answer is always: the system is fucked up, and there's enough to go around. Imagine a different world. The answer, at this point, is always to imagine a different world.

sending this to the group chat immediately

i have chosen the pope that was in the conclave and which you were probably saving for an italian forgive me he was chicagoan da pope go cubs

I am unapologetically telling you right now that Chicago is going to be insufferable about this, there is still a fading cardboard John Paul II in a Michigan Ave storefront looking out at Grant Park because he spoke there *once.*

Just looked up what malort is and you people are sick

me: I'm done with the pope posts conservatives: we are having the worst day of our lives, woke marxist pope will give your kids gun control & health care in their sleep me: I would like a few more pope posts

Pope Leo XIV is still going to be terrible on every issue that the Church is currently terrible on. That isn't going to change. The good news is that this isn't walking back the limited reforms Francis instituted. And it is likely to mean a Pope who speaks up in areas where the Church is good.
