Just heard the swans flying over, even if I hardly ever see them I like to know they are just down the road, but on the river not on the road. Today's posts have been bird heavy. Tomorrow my folks are visiting and I have requested they bring some supplies from their vats of peanuts & fatballs.

Today I have spent my time drinking cups of tea and refilling bird feeders. It took me 10 years of living in fear of my neighbour and her constant comments about rats, before I put any feeders out. My fear of my neighbour is rooted in her passive aggression and my inability to assert myself

I'm trying so hard not to despair about this :( I know it's a lot! I know there are lots of us :( I will be contributing as I'm able, but I don't even know if I'll get my disability check next month and I'm so scared every day that I won't make it through this admin. :( ko-fi.com/divinejasper...

These were the first spicy potatoes I've been able to find since I lived in Weston-super-Mare. There was a shop opposite the Odeon that sold them & from the age of 17 I would eat them when I'd been to the cinema, or on the way back to my bedsit after one too many £1 pints.

I've made a google photo album with all the b/w photos of Svalbard that I'm offering as A4 prints in my crowdfunder-let me know if you want the link and I'll send it to you- there's 9 days left, £73 to go to reach my stretch goal and loads of photos for £20 each!

Just spent £20 on primarily potato based products as I really fancied some chips and the chip shop was closed. I've ordered from a new place so let's see how lost the delivery person gets this time.

When will I learn that reading about changes the DWP want to bring to disability benefits, in particular the ones I receive, is only going to increase my anxiety and stress, and decreases my ability to work well and care for myself. That's just reading about something that hasn't happened yet.

@fogoumodels.bsky.social I feel this is a sign to get into painting tiny things.

I waited for this moment since my sister started having kids- a one line text from my eldest niece, 'Do you believe in the owl man'. Is it too soon to sign her up for a subscription to Fortean Times? How do I break it to her that I don't believe? But I want to believe. The hoot is out there.

Been eating wasabi peas again and it suddenly dawned on me that this is the only form I eat peas in

Really great to see @pitchfork.com go in-depth on Movietone. The Blossom Filled Streets is such a timeless record that it will probably echo down forever. Warm words by @markrichardson.bsky.social pitchfork.com/reviews/albu...

Every so often, I see @angryblacklady.bsky.social explain that substack is a Nazi base and should be avoided. Yet another reason

Don't think I'm going to be doing much more posting about my crowdfunder as I've already gone over my initial target & it feels kinda creepy asking people for money when things are so hard right now. I made a poster & then discovered that I had hit my target so here it is anyway.

Neen trying to tread the fine line between annoying people by constantly asking them to pledge to my crowdfunder & not letting people know at all. The reason I'm running it is to cover additional costs that arise from having disabilities that break me www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/art-in-the...

A new range is born...

A clear night in Penryn tonight, and the discovery of a mysterious glowing S.

2nd night in a row that has featured eating wasabi peas at 3am. At least this time I had company.

Things I've been thinking about. 1) can you get addicted to soup? 2) is it ok to eat wasabi peas at 3am? 3) why do granny smith apples go so well with mature cheddar cheese?

‘Kes marked a conscious departure from the “go-in-and-grab-it” style of Up the Junction. The aim now was to observe, sympathetically, at a distance, but still with a view to avoiding as far as possible any suspicion of extensive rehearsal.’ David Trotter on Ken Loach: www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v4...

Think I may have dramatically underestimated the amount of time it will take me to get from a plane that lands at Heathrow at 4.25pm to Paddington station. Last time I left 6 hours and it was just enough time!

I finally processed some of the photos I took when I was in Svalbard in 2023. I'm going to be offering prints of some of them as rewards in my crowdfunder. I haven't updated it yet but they will be £20 for an a4 photographic print on matt paper. I'm raising £ towards the Arctic Hideaway residency

@radiosilents.bsky.social I saw your post on Instagram and then by the time I managed to get into my account here I had forgotten your name here, which was really frustrating as I knew it in the back of my mind. But my mind started working again and I have found you.

I just saw a post elsewhere (Instagram maybe) from someone I know who has moved over here, and in the time between seeing that post and getting back into my account I have forgotten their name here, and can't find the post on Instagram. I need an 'import from brain' app.

Oops, logged myself out for a bit. Managed to get back in again. Here's a cat photo to make up for it.
