The world is a fiery shitshow. AND You are allowed to be happy. These two things are not mutually exclusive. Clutching our moments of joy with both hands is how we remember what we're fighting for and trying to protect.

I have a giant water bottle marked with amounts and time of day to remind me to stay hydrated. I'm almost embarrassed by how huge a sense of accomplishment emptying that damn thing brings. That said, go drink something and put on some lotion. It's winter, protect your skin.

Just a suggestion for Black History Month, especially for WW and "allies": Read Audre Lorde. Start with The Master's Tools Will Never Dismantle The Master's House. Read it twice. Then read Zami. Then her gorgeous poetry. Read the speech again. theanarchistlibrary.org/library/audr...

Road to the VRA: 60 years ago today in Selma, Sheriff Jim Clark & a group of deputies armed with night sticks & electric cattle prods forced 165 Black schoolchildren, who had been holding signs at the courthouse calling for voting rights, to go on a rapid-pace forced march into the countryside.

To the people insisting Kendrick should have burnt the American flag: 1) Kendrick's clearly proud to be an American. 2) Burning the flag at America's Game is asking to start a riot against you. 3) Proclaiming that American Heritage = Black Heritage makes the GOP angrier than burning it ever would.
