We’re closing in on the 3.5% rule! 8.6 million and counting! We’re in awe. Lots of events still happening make sure to be counted. Big towns, small towns you showed up.

I'm sorry but the largest protest of my lifetime is not the 7th or 8th biggest news story in the country behind "what does Gen Z want from Instagram?" This shit is humiliating. Rearrange your layout to meet this moment. Omitting the thing happening in every American city is malpractice.

As I report here for @motherjones.com, a local lawmaker in LA says ICE showed up to a confidential domestic violence shelter. That’s just one of the many impacts they’ve had on shelters & survivors this past week ⬇️

The Department of Homeland Security is lying. @padilla.senate.gov identified himself. Urging everyone to go out and righteously and peacefully exercise your freedom of speech and assembly. That’s how we take back our country.

NEW @motherjones.com: Spoke to 6 domestic violence shelters/orgs in LA about the chilling effects of ICE: They’re closing their doors & survivors are afraid to seek help. “DV programs should be safe sanctuaries & we can’t even guarantee that anymore,” one said. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

It’s looking more and more like a dictatorship. That’s no way to treat a U.S. Senator. Claiming he was an attacker and failed to identify himself is delusional he’s a sitting senator. America is watching, and the tides are turning.

This is a lie. We all saw the video. The Senator clearly identified himself, and he did not "lunge" toward anyone.   If these miserable propagandists will lie to you about roughing up a U.S. Senator in a room full of reporters, what won't they lie to you about?

🚨 Secretary Noem basically said that her agency is now dedicated to forcible regime change…in American cities and states. There 👏🏽 is 👏🏽 a 👏🏽 name 👏🏽 for 👏🏽 this

Been joined so far by @booker.senate.gov @schatz.bsky.social @pattymurray.bsky.social @schumer.senate.gov @coons.senate.gov @jeff-merkley.bsky.social @wyden.senate.gov @cantwell.senate.gov @elizabeth-warren.bsky.social @andykimnj.bsky.social and others. This is a defining moment.

We are marching to Senator Thune’s office. There must be accountability for the detainment of a Senator. This is not normal.

I'm on my way to the Senate floor to talk about the assault on my colleague, Senator Alex Padilla. This is a horrifying moment in our nation’s history.

I was at a car wash in Culver City today that was raided twice last weekend by ICE. 25 car wash workers and 1 customer have been kidnapped over the past several days, and the whereabouts of most of them is unknown. I spoke to families of the kidnap victims: prospect.org/justice/2025...

We feed you. They hunt us.

Corporate media should be sharing images of the thousands and thousands of peaceful protestors - not the one guy who is probs a boogaloo boy in disguise throwing a stick at a cop with a machine gun. Show the world the United States is protesting!!

Musk should be asked about this in every interview he does now and forever. To ignore it is a dereliction of duty. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/o...

Is there anybody on God's green earth who thinks that the Qataris are giving a plane to Donald Trump without expecting something in return?

This is an heart shredding reminder of the fact that yes, in fact, they can legally lie to you

"Under the annual appropriations act, lawmakers are permitted to enter 'any facility operated by or for DHS used to detain or otherwise house aliens.' The law is clear that members of Congress are not required 'to provide prior notice of intent to enter a facility'..." www.cnn.com/2025/05/10/p...

"The crowd chants 'Don’t take the mother!' over and over again as the daughter keeps trying to get back on the hood of the car. More Worcester cops arrive, all helping the ICE agents carry out their rotten senseless work." www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

In New York, ICE detained a busload of farmworkers that were actively involved in a union drive. In Washington state, ICE dragged a farmworkers’ rights activist and leader out of his car to detain him. Be warned: attacking unions is a hallmark of fascism.

Contrasted with NYT, here's a newspaper exercising responsible editorial judgment.

Rally for Mohsen Mahdawi starts shortly! Join us at 5:30 here at the State Department to demand that Marco Rubio upholds due process.

“With their savings, they paid for expensive and extremely difficult in vitro fertilization process to have their daughter, he said.“

One of the most shocking things I have read for a while: t.co/lg46ijHLDF

Almost every line of this story would have been simply unbelievable a few months ago: —Pioneering cancer researcher; —*Arrested* at airport in Boston; —Now indefinite ICE detention in Louisiana; —"Crime": not declaring some frog-embryo samples for research. Read it. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

"the president defied a Supreme Court ruling to return a man mistakenly sent to a gulag... and spoke of sending Americans to foreign concentration camps. This is the beginning of an American policy of state terror, and it has to be identified as such to be stopped" snyder.substack.com/p/state-terror

"After nearly five hours, he and his wife were released. They are now pursuing legal action. "It's not about the immigrants," his sister, told NBC10 Boston. "It's coming to us Americans, and it's going to go after all of us." www.nbcboston.com/news/politic...

Mohsen Mahdawi, a permanent U.S. resident living in White River Junction, was arrested Monday when he arrived for a citizenship interview at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services field office in Colchester, according to court filings.

Mohsen Mahdawi of White River Junction, Vermont was illegally detained by ICE during what was supposed to be the final step in his citizenship process. Mr. Mahdawi, a legal resident of the US, must be afforded due process under the law and immediately released from detention.

Bone chilling. A court ordered Kilmar Abrego Garcia to stay in the United States. The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that he was illegally removed. Trump is pretending he won the ruling 9-0. 1/ You may not think this case means anything to you. But let me tell you why it does.

Good morning. Today is the 80th day that the U.S. President is running a backdoor bribery scheme in which any CEO or foreign oligarch can send him money secretly through his crypto coin scam in exchange for favors. It's the biggest scandal in the history of the Presidency.

It’s been a full week, and not a single penguin has backed down or sold out. Could there be a lesson here for America’s law firms and universities?

It’s a month since the administration detained and disappeared a green card holder, a lawful permanent resident. We cannot allow this to be normalized or forgotten.

A federal judge in Boston transferred the case of Rümeysa Öztürk, the Turkish national and Tufts graduate student, to federal court in Vermont, where she can continue to challenge her detention and the revocation of her student visa.

SAVE THE PENGUINS. STOP TRUMP’S TARIFFS.

You have to see this. PoliticsGirl and her husband teamed up with the brilliant Timothy Snyder (author of On Tyranny) and the legendary John Lithgow to create something truly powerful. It’s important, it’s urgent—and it needs to be shared far and wide.

I’m calling for Rumeysa Ozturk’s release, as well as the restoration of her visa. And I’m working to get more information on this disturbing incident.

I've been unable to think of little else since watching the video of masked secret police from ICE whisking away Rumeysa Ozturk - a shocking scene of police state repression I never hoped to see in America What's even worse is why she was disappeared. My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/rume...

Not sure if this has been shared here yet, but this is video of Rumeysa Ozturk's arrest posted by WCVB. It's terrifying.

NEW: @motherjones.com reports that one of the men renditioned to El Salvador is Neri Alvarado, who was working in Dallas as a baker. An ICE agent told him they were questioning all men with tattoos. Neri has an AUTISM AWARENESS TATTOO in honor of his 15-year-old brother with autism.

We want to spread the word about the nationwide mobilizations on April 5. Tell us why you will be taking to the streets: bit.ly/April5socials

WOW: @miamiherald.com reveals that a person imprisoned in El Salvador had LEGAL REFUGEE STATUS. He entered the USA legally in January and was detained because of his tattoos, EVEN THOUGH he had previously passed a full background check. Without warning, he was sent to El Salvador on March 15.

"Protests of Trump may not look like the mass marches of 2017, but research shows they are far more numerous and frequent — while also shifting to more powerful forms of resistance." wagingnonviolence.org/2025/03/resi...

They are refugees from Bhutan, living in central Pennsylvania They are in the United States legally ICE seized them for deportation anyway www.inquirer.com/news/pennsyl...

They're trying to deport my colleague from the med school and holding her without counsel. She was coming back from a visit to her family. If there are ways to help I'll let you know. www.providencejournal.com/story/news/l...
