The observance of Juneteenth calls us to recommit ourselves to the work of equity, equality, and justice. Each June 19, and especially today in Minnesota, we are reminded of our incredible capacity to heal, hope, and emerge from our darkest moments with purpose and resolve.

I wrote a piece for @msnbc.com about the anti abortion violence we are witnessing and how we can stand with those who fight for us. The lesson of the Minnesota shootings www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

My heart breaks for Adriana Smith, her family, and baby Chance, who had to enter the world this way. Georgia’s fetal personhood law denied Adriana Smith’s family the ability to say goodbye to her on their own terms. Instead, her body was used as an incubator for nearly 4 months.

Since it is Juneteenth, I will share a lil something... My ancestors were slaves in Texas & were freed on June 19, 1865. They came together to meet with other ex-slaves & formed the Limestone County 19th of June Organization. They bought 30 acres of land on Lake Mexia.

The new law makes it illegal to investigate, arrest, prosecute or imprison any woman in England or Wales for terminating her own pregnancy — no matter what term or trimester she's in.

Congrats to England and Wales, where lawmakers have voted to decriminalize abortion. 88% of the population there supports the right to abortion. The majority of Americans support the right to abortion too, but our illegitimate SCOTUS stole our rights. Gift link. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/17/w...

Adriana Smith did not give birth to a baby. She was used as an incubator, cut open, and a baby was taken out of her lifeless body. A Black woman was used as a science experiment.

When does the “great” part start?

Whoa! Hats off to ABC News reporter Matt Gutman for keeping his cool yesterday. This LAPD officer needs to be relieved of duty if he can’t handle an alleged “touch” without snapping.

Proud Boy goes bye bye again. This time in Nashville. Maybe don’t wave guns at protesters. Gotta be a cop to do that bs and they didn’t give you a badge…yet.

Vance Boelter, the man who committed political violence by assassinating and shooting Democratic elected officials, was a Trump voting, registered Republican—a US citizen, not an immigrant.

I'm going to get ahead of some uninformed outrage. The second-degree murder charges against Vance Boelter are all that can be brought against him *right now.* Prosecutors can charge him with first-degree premeditated murder, but that requires a grand jury indictment, not just a criminal complaint.

Targets included Democrats, abortion providers and NO KINGS rallies. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/15/u...
