No Other Land has won this year's Oscar for best documentary. This is a big deal. Despite being worthy of an Oscar, the film has NOT been able to find distribution in the US because it's about the forced displacement of Palestinians from their homes by Israel.

For most white Americans the immigration “process” was (maybe) buying ship fare and (maybe) getting checked for tuberculosis at Ellis Island. Little to no paperwork, identification, or waiting. We came to a land that wasn’t our own, prospered, and then closed the door behind us. #nopersonisillegal
