The crazy thing is that Trump, if he gets his way, will likely save the Russian army and see it restored to strength. Is that in America's interest? Answers on a postcard to The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue..

So Zelensky is supposed to give up Ukraine's minerals and eventually its independence, because otherwise Trump will be offended? Who those people think they are? www.axios.com/2025/02/21/z...

A recap of 29 times Trump has sided with Putin in his first month back in power www.politico.eu/article/dona...

This is a new level of madness. I don't know how it can be stopped

So many were freaking out regarding Trump's statements in reference to Ukraine and it is true that many of those statements were rubbish and even factually outright wrong.

No, but if you’re looking for one, I am aware of a guy you work with that was indicted four times and convicted of thirty-four felonies.

Not the right approach in terms of preparing French public opinion for worse Indeed, it has the feel of what Macron explained to the French when he was trying to convince people that he could talk Putin into stopping the invasion of Ukraine during the 1st year of the full-scale invasion

Can one of the many Brussels media outlets do a "which EU think-tanks disclose their funding, to what level of detail" piece? Bruegel is transparent, others give you at least a rough idea (ECFR, EPC, CEPS, CER, Carnegie), some give you nothing (MCC Brussels). Many run opaquely-funded "programmes"

3 years on, the war in #Ukraine according to Trump. The new theory of cause and effect. Best cartoon of the day, by Andrea Bozzo

Whitehouse: "Remember Trump-Russia? The Mueller report said there was Trump-Russia. The bipartisan Senate intelligence report said there was Trump-Russia. Repeated trials brought in evidence showing Trump-Russia. There was, is, and forever shall be Trump-Russia."

Some good news for a change. The CEA managed some great feat with a fusion reactor recently. Basically they managed to manipulate and stabilize plasma for 22 minutes. That plasma is still not hot enough to reach the point of being a net positive in term of energy, but it's a crucial 1st step

Trump is losing his rag because Zelensky isn't backing down. He needs Zelensky to back down. So support Zelensky.

"To start, Europe must rid itself of the dangerous illusion that it is weak—and stop acting like it." www.economist.com/by-invitatio...

The US presenting a deal with Russia as some kind of great win for trade and commerce is laughably incorrect. Russia has never been a major US trading partner. Any "deal" with Russia is purely political in nature, and designed to enable corruption, not legitimate economic interest.

Helpful thread as Putin and Trump try to remove Zelensky

In Europe, Trump's vile and crude denigration of Zelensky is likely to be much less damaging to him than Biden's pathetic and somewhat impotent displays of sympathy.

Excellent thread. At this point, quick and imperfect action is much better than inaction with regard to Russian agression and US outlandish policy on Ukraine.

"Europe merged from the summit meeting in Paris on Monday publicly fighting about whether they could deploy a peacekeeping or tripwire force to Ukraine. The message to the US (and Russia) was clear: we do not need to invite Europeans to the table." ecfr.eu/article/lett...

"There is overwhelming consensus on Capitol Hill that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a war criminal, NATO is critical to European and global security, and the United States has led the common defense." They all knew Trump was running against that.

Russia is at its weakest in years. Putin is in a precarious situation. They are attacking western interests around the world and murdering Europeans. Why is Rubio bending a knee and showing weakness?

Trump is now an aide in Russia’s regime change plan for Ukraine. Europeans need to act NOW, not after the German elections, to make sure Ukrainians have an alternative. All the worst came true and there is no other way to put it than that the US is in Russia’s team now.

Not news but still always worth reminding ppl. From on.ft.com/4hHdJat How European defence companies can rise to the challenge

BREAKING: Denise Cheung, head of the criminal division in the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office, resigned after refusing a Justice Department order to freeze $20 billion in climate funds. In her resignation letter, she revealed that Trump officials had pressured her to launch a baseless criminal probe

Some credible but pretty dark scenarios if Europe does not react vigorously to the Russian threat and the US abandonment of NATO on Ukraine www.ifri.org/fr/briefings...

This guy just voted to confirm an anti-vaxxer responsible for a measles outbreak in Samoa as HHS Secretary. These people are Fu*king shameless
