I haven’t been posting about soup but that doesn’t mean i haven’t been making it. (This post both 100% is and 100% is not about soup.)

I only took this screenshot to see what he was reading—now I’m stuck with a shirtless therapist!

my dream for us all is a future where if i were to acontextually post this shit is so fucked. it wouldn’t make immediate sense to you

Top-tier late-December vibes in Anne Waldman’s “Seasonal Poem” (from the Dec. 13 issue of JSTOR Daily daily.jstor.org/merry-christ...)

Tonight’s soup: broccoli, cheddar, and white bean purée with homemade wholegrain mustard croutons.

Kinda early but I’m calling it: best thing I read today.

This is an incredible piece of journalism, and another reminder that healthcare should not be for profit (and neither should news).

Best thing I read today.

Tonight’s soup: yellow split pea with onion, carrot, potato, and parsley (pan-fried veggie hot dog coins on top, re-heated buttermilk biscuit on the side)

TV on the Radio’s incredible Tiny Desk Concert prompted me to revisit some other faves. This one always leaves me covered in goosebumps: youtu.be/z1Lh06y6Z1Q?...

Everyone should read this.

First thing I read today.

Best think I saw today: this painting of a slice of lemon meringue pie by artist & author Elizabeth Schoonmaker. (That jaunty pompadour of meringue!)

Best thing I read today.

Tonight’s soup: acorn squash, black bean, and corn garnished with sour cream, crispy tortilla strips, and a vigorous squeeze of lime.

Best thing I read today.

To the digit… and now it’s time for me to crunch on some osteoporosis pills while I write my will.

Best thing I read today: Heather McHugh’s “Sound as Fundy, Fundy as Sound,” a limited edition broadside poem designed & hand printed by Andrew Steeves of Gaspereau Press in Kentville, Nova Scotia for the Tides Institute in Eastport, Maine. www.tidesinstitute.org/collections-...

Tonight’s “soup” was pinto bean chili (no recipe, just vibes / corn chips on the side).

Best thing I’ve seen today: video from artist Pilvi Takala’s THE TRAINEE, a monthlong art intervention in which “an initially normal-seeming marketing trainee starts to apply peculiar working methods.” pilvitakala.com/the-trainee/

Best thing I’ve read today.

My dog turned 12 yesterday. She celebrated by eating some deer poop. I’ve been trying to make a “party pooper” joke ever since but can’t quite stick the landing.

I really do make a lot of soup. Tonight’s was French green lentils, carrots, potatoes, Redbor kale, & thyme with a cheddar-herb biscuit on the side.
