Watched a video of Scott Galloway's monologue on Piers Morgan about the depravity of Musk - and it's great! go, him - but every time he paused to draw breath and neither of the other two men jumped in I found myself thinking 'Wow, so that's what you get to say when men don't constantly interrupt.'

Your daily reminder that “targeted political violence” is traditionally referred to as “terrorism”

Oh you wouldn't know the gay curriculum people. They all go to "the other school".

Starmer is showing just how divorced from reality he is. His cuts to PIP will actually prevent more disabled people from working. This is a fundamentally disastrous policy which will harm people. Any decent Labour MP needs to oppose it. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

A thread you need.

“I grew up around this hoary old routine; sectarian prejudice dressed up with talk about jobs, housing or religious identity, now wheeled out in terms of law and order, grotesquely weaponizing an awful alleged crime to bring brickbats and firebombs to the homes of peaceful, terrified foreigners” 💯

Some great writing on the North’s racist carnage today. “You can’t “legitimate concern” your way through a pogrom.. If women in Northern Ireland rioted every time one of us was attacked, the country would lie in ashes.”

She was my friend’s boss. I am devastated for him, for the murdered legislators’ loved ones, and for all of us. This is what rapidly accelerating authoritarianism looks like. If you can protest safely today, I implore you to do so. Courage is contagious.

this is an affluent suburb northwest of LA. it’s important for people to realize that the assault on our communities is widespread, disparate, urban and suburban and rural.

A day to redouble our refusal to obey or bow down to evil old men and their paranoid, murderous fantasies of annihilation: Arendt "looked across the field of political philosophy and rewilded it wth what, to her, was most important of all: human experience". Thank you @lyndseystonebri.bsky.social

NGL it's quite a news day to be doing a closing keynote on why we - individually, collectively, geopolitically - need internet diversity and resilience to get us through the years ahead. Gotta root around and find that duty of hope. I know it's in here somewhere.

It’s a scary time to be a person of colour in Ireland. The hatred is so intense. Online and in real life.

Also, no one has any clue what the fuck they're doing, so you might as well give it a shot!

Today is launch day for our friend @nicwilson.bsky.social whose fabulous book 'Land Beneath the Waves' is attracting so much interest. Hope you have a great launch event NIc!

It took me a good 200 pages to get into Sally Rooney's Intermezzo - it's much more interior than previous ones, with less dialogue, fewer emails, text messages, etc. - but around p.290 it all culminated (so far) in the most beautiful, thought by thought description of a young man in love and I am ♥️😭

Today, let's celebrate biodiversity, defined as all living things and their interactions. It is the birthday of the great E.O. Wilson (1929-2021). Wilson is considered the father of biodiversity for his great work bringing Earth's biodiversity and the grave threats to it to public attention. 1/3

zuckerberg has set billions of dollars on fire on gibberish and copycat garbage, can't competently manage the scale of his primary business, has zero ethics or original ideas, and can't innovate his way out of a paper bag yet U.S. "business journalism" never makes any of that clear

First the Dutch government and now Denmark; EU ministers are cauterising their dependence on US Big Tech and moving to open software to secure basic infrastructure. Baby steps, but they're in the right direction.
