So inspiring to read about Mariana's journey into research, a fellow Argentinian in York who is really making a difference.

If anyone is interested in reading about my journey towards becoming a researcher, with some anecdotes along the way, here's a piece by the Communications Team at University of York 😊 Thanks to the team for putting this together features.york.ac.uk/york-researc...

This is quite the screenshot 🤣 I'm now slightly concerned that this is the type of facial expression my #Zumba participants are having to look at 😂 Roar 🐯

A great afternoon spent online with the Coding Medieval Worlds community 😊 We've heard from some wonderful presenters and had insightful discussions. We just heard about a game in development by @verysrsgames.com Looks amazing! with art by @boaillustration.bsky.social

Finished notifying presenters on the outcome of their submissions to the #DARCI Conference on #Disability #Accessibility and #Representation in the #Creative Industries. Looking forward to welcoming everyone ☺️ To keep up with conference news sign up to our newsletter enhancingaudiodescription.com

Recommendations needed: Looking for training for researchers on dealing with trauma-related material, about how researchers can look after themselves when exposed to what are likely to be difficult testimonies. Thanks!

A thread on sound installations and online experiences and their connections to #acoustical #heritage and #historical #soundscapes 😊

We are working on sending the notifications on the #DARCI Conference submissions for our conference on Disability, Accessibility and Representation in the Creative Industries. It might take a few days to send all notifications through but we hope to inform everyone by next Monday. Thanks!

Weekend vibe 😃

Regis Pig got a bit jealous that Zoltan Pig had a copy of 'Sonic Pasts: acoustical heritage and historical soundscapes', so here he is, enjoying his own copy 😜 #heritage #soundscapes www.routledge.com/Sonic-Pasts-...

It was Zoltan Pig's birthday yesterday, his first birthday. He got his perfect gift, a copy of 'Sonic Pasts: acoustical heritage and historical soundscapes', complete with representations of his relatives the carpinchos/capybaras 😊 You know you want a copy too 🧐 www.routledge.com/Sonic-Pasts-...

Call for Papers for the 6th 'Middle Ages in Modern Games Asynchronous Conference' on 3-6 June is now available. The central themes this year are ‘Globalities’ and ‘Regionalities’. A great opportunity to share work in the field @midagesmodgames.bsky.social middleagesinmoderngames.net/announcement...

A new episode of the #DARCI podcast on Disability, Accessibility and Representation in the Creative Industries has just landed! And I had the honour of interviewing the wonderful Gabriela Ortiz from Percepciones Textuales shows.acast.com/darci-1/epis...

My book 'Sonic Pasts: acoustical heritage and historical soundscapes' is now also available at the University of York Library 😊

It's like the third time at work this week that I catch myself saying 'They want to be where the people are, like The Little Mermaid' 🤣

Teaching prep for next week in progress. This semester I'll be teaching 'Spatial Audio and Surround Sound' and 'Disability, Accessibility and Representation in the Creative Industries' Looking forward to meeting the new groups ☺️

You can now find 'Sonic Pasts: acoustical heritage and historical soundscapes' at the University of York Library 📚

Delighted to announce the keynote speakers for the #DARCI Conference on Disability, Accessibility and Representation in the Creative Industries. Raymond Antrobus will be presenting 'An Investigation of Missing Sound' and @blindspothannah.bsky.social 'The Sensational Museum' tinyurl.com/3bzs7wkr

Regis Pig and Zoltan Pig relaxing on the ramp and looking extra fluffy 😍🤩 #guineapigs

Archaeology friends: any ideas where I could submit my Stonehenge paper? It's not your usual archaeology paper, it's cultural studies/public archaeology/digital humanities-ish. I am absolutely terrified of being eaten alive by reviewers & this has taken me so long to finish!

I can only agree on this being a great podcast 😜

I try to help as much as possible with journal paper reviews as I know how hard it is to find reviewers. But Frontiers 'forcing' reviewers to add their names next to published papers...I don't think so...Ultimately I don't know how my review is going to be used and you can't opt out...
