I think after finishing my thesis I'll need a break from demonstratives for the rest of my life 🫠 (they're the morphologically most complex part of speech in North Halmahera) Should you ever feel the urge to develop new demonstrative forms by recombining the existing ones in endless ways - don't!

Calling to people who know something about #Jawi: I'm trying to type the character in the picture (kaf with one dot below). It exists in unicode and appears correctly in wiktionary: en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E0%A2%B4 but when I paste it into word it comes out as in the second picture please help!

Always remember that Tolkien once changed the original name of Thingol in the Book of Lost Tales from Linwe Tinto to Tinwe Linto such switches of consonants are btw known as spoonerisms (called after William Archibald Spooner who apparently was very fond of them)

One of my favorite on-going semantic changes in German is that "Morgenroutine" ('morning routine') can now refer to a video showing what someone did during one random morning involving no routines at all! I guess this is also happening in English
