Marie Curie Liverpool Hospice-based Physiotherapist, Colette Parfitt, is awarded the Susie Wilkinson Award 2025! Colette was nominated for research on generating evidence of staff confidence in the Falls Early Warning Score (FEWs), an inpatient assessment tool to reduce the number of falls.

🏅Congratulations to Dr Michelle Myall who is this year’s winner of the Clair Fisher Research impact Award! The winning study developed the DALLI Toolkit, used to identify and support those at risk of domestic abuse at the end of their lives, and shared it in practice for use by stakeholders.

🏅Our Tammy Prescott public and patient involvement award goes to the team behind the Victoria and Stuart Project! The project was a codesign of a toolkit of resources for advanced care planning for those at the end of life with learning difficulties.

🏅Our Joanna Mugridge Award 2025 for best conference poster is awarded to Dr Alison Rodriguez! The poster was titled “co-designing a digital meaning-making and legacy leaving intervention for young people with life limiting conditions”. View here - mariecurie.ivent-pro.com/events/resea...

How can social science and humanities help us “to know dying”? Identifying data from our our project setting new research priorities, researchers from diverse disciplines were brought together to identify five research areas for social sciences to consider for palliative and end of life care.

We’re excited to announce the launch of new research priorities for palliative and end of life care! These have been created in a project with the JLA and other partner organisations, including co-funders the ESRC and @mndassoc.bsky.social, and guided by people affected by a life limiting illness.
