I am utterly obsessed with The Roottrees are Dead thanks to @jemalexander.bsky.social – finished the 'main' game, now deep into Roottreemania. Anyone to recommend similar games?? 🕵️

Hello! If you are a junior/mid-level games journo who is excited by news reporting, loves to interview people, knows how to read a financial report, and tends to be awake during a UK-ish timezone, I wanna know who you are! Here's a job ad, DM me any questions: www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/41...

Finding it increasingly difficult to be on social media regularly because of... *gestures at world* But reminder that I'm now a full time freelancer so if you need an award-winning editor to help you with words, whether editorial, PR, comms, or anything in between, get in touch (email in bio) 💌

At the end of last year I was part of @abigbat.bsky.social's mentorship program. I've never worked so hard and learned so much in just 8 weeks and after some final tweaks I'm finally ready to post my final piece. I couldn't be more grateful to Paul and everyone on the course for their support :)

Having hibernated for a month, I am now back 🐻 and ready to rumble! I'll be at PGC doing ✨ freelance things ✨ and looking to meet up with people. Hit me up if you're gonna be around and wanna catch up or hire me or something!

A true Christmas-as-a-journo tradition that @brendansinclair.bsky.social has instilled in a lot of us!

i said the @alanwake expansions would be my GOTY in june after playing night springs in one sitting, and i kept that promise 🌀✨ thank you @samlakewrites.bsky.social and everyone at @remedygames.com for bringing me joy once again www.gamesindustry.biz/alan-wake-2-...

I'm so chuffed I finally got to write a Game of the Year piece about Stardew Valley, my go-to emotional support video game, the one I will never get bored of, the Platinum trophy I will never stop chasing ✨🌿🍄 🔮 www.gamesindustry.biz/stardew-vall...

The one solace to leaving GI is knowing Sophie is still there. GI is in capable hands while the team is staffed up again.

Man, I'm biased, but I am so gutted about GI biz. Such a unique, valuable asset to everyone in games. I don't think people coming into this space to write about what they personally love truly know what it's like to do away with ego, opinion and Having Takes to just, objectively report business.

Sophie should certainly not be underestimated, she's a powerhouse, she has journalistic instincts that are second to none, and I will never not be blown away by her abilities. She will doing great things at GI whether we're at her sides or not 💪🏻🌀

I can’t emphasise enough how happy I am that my last interview as deputy editor of GI is with the team behind Monument Valley 3. This franchise (and Ustwo Games) mean so much to me, and it was amazing to go back to the studio to meet the team and chat all things Monument Valley. Read it, pls and thx

It goes without saying that you should count yourself extremely lucky to have James in your team, someone who always leads with kindness, support, and understanding, and always always always goes the extra mile for his team

I want to make a personal appeal for the beautiful new game of Palestinian gamedev @rasheedabueideh.bsky.social. As nobody will fund a game about the 1948 Nakba, Rasheed is crowdfunding via launchgood.com/1948. I've been doing production advice on the game pro bono, and it deserves to exist.

After years away from game dev, I couldn’t stay silent about my people’s dehumanization. I made Dreams on a Pillow 🍉a game inspired by a famous Palestinian folktale about the 1948 Nakba. I’m crowdfunding it now—please back & share! 🔗 launchgood.com/1948

✨ Bittersweet announcement time ✨ My time at GamesIndustry.biz will be coming to a close at the end of the year. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times! I’ve done so many incredible things at GI over the past 5+ years… (1/4)

i am officially 💞✨ overwhelmed ✨💞 by the outpouring of love, messages, and replies - y'all are too good and nice and kind and my cold heart is melting
