We all owe such a debt of gratitude to the law firms that are not capitulating to the orange fascist

First came the market manipulation. Now come the bribes.

Who else thinks the entire tariff nonsense was a cover for insider training but also a distraction from kidnapping people to foreign gulags, passing a multi trillion-dollar tax cut for the wealthy, wrecking govt programs, ongoing violations of the emoluments clause, and God knows what else?

Well this sounds fully unconstitutional. (Also, Republicans have sure liked nationwide rulings when it comes to restricting abortion and the like. According to this article, Nationwide district ruling spiked during the Trump administration. harvardlawreview.org/print/vol-13... )

This made my day! Billboard on I-98 in Palm Beach, Florida, on the road to mar-a-lago.

"Johnson stands as a one-man blockade" -- but don't forget that any Republican representative can file a motion to vacate that would *have* to be acted on. So they are all equally complicit. One of them needs to find a spine and start the process to oust Johnson. open.substack.com/pub/roberthu...

Extremely lucid and clear account from a small business owner as to why tariffs will be devastating for *AMERICAN* entrepreneurs, *AMERICAN* industry, and the *AMERICAN* economy. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/08/o...

Trump has been doing a lot of un-American things, but sending people to horrific prisons / death camps in a third world country without due process may be the most un-American thing yet.

@kamalaharris.com is on bluesky!

Say no more.

I cannot understand why fanatically pro-Israel Zionists can't see that the incessant violence is creating many more terrorists than it is destroying. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/05/o...

Gail Collins: Will President Trump’s tariffs go down as one of the 100 worst decisions in presidential history? 50? 10? Bret Stephens: As an economic matter, possibly the worst presidential decision ever. Hoover..didn’t have the benefit of hindsight when he signed Smoot-Hawley into law in 1930.

I am so worried and sad about US science -- and especially the sudden lack of opportunity for young, promising scientists. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/03/o...

This 15-year-old kid understands what's going on in the country better than most adults.

Elon Musk has enough money to buy any damn thing he wants, and he decided to buy the title of Most Hated Man On The Planet. (But he still came in second place to the vile orange one.)

Utah!!

Okay, so here's the thing. I was doing fantastic this AM: 19th place (out of ~750). Then I made mistakes on two of the afternoon puzzles & tumbled to 81st. I've figured it out. I should have gone to the Stamford protest during lunch. Then my soul would be clean and I would have prevailed. Mea culpa!

Joy: This squirrel is PERSISTENT! xcancel.com/llandoniffir...

This has really started to go too far

Holy cow

If only we would learn our own damn lesson

But there's a long line in the women's room - we could take over the men's room, but then everybody might be arrested & deported to El Salvador... 🙄

Joy: I'm at the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament in Stamford CT - 800 competitors; biggest ever!! Wish me luck!

Sad reminder: if 5 months ago, just a few hundred thousand people here and there had understood and believed the shitshow that was about to happen; or gotten their asses up and to the polls; or voted for the least bad alternative even if they didn't love her as a candidate; we could have had Kamala.

There are 32m small businesses in the USA

Man, @economist.com absolutely TRASHED Trump's tariffs (I won't call them "tariff policy" because nothing Trump is doing is "policy"; it's just whims)

💯
