Apropos of nothing: wellbeing should be the end of any climate policy ⬇️ doi.org/10.1038/s415...

Tackling climate change through urban wellness policies implies leaving behind the idea of economic growth as the goal and shaping cities as human and humane places. This is a paradigmatic change that won't happen without contestation.

As Marks Carney is the new PM of Canada, let’s remember the economy is a means, not an end.

Dear friends and colleagues - if anyone is interested, may I highly recommend:

I actually used the word “life-changing” to refer to the new cutlery in my Department’s kitchen...

It took me a while, but I've got my inbox under control again. Nobody send me an email!

I have received enough emails from predatory journals/conferences to say I prefer those starting with "dear respected researcher" than with "dear Papin, M.". It's 2025, you can figure out where my first name should go.

Tomorrow is #IWD25, and I'm going to do the opposite of what we're encouraged to do. Instead of celebrating and sharing how other women have inspired me and my career, I want to say that the "road to success" is generally very hard, full of challenges, conflicts, being under-appreciated... 1/2

If you're a graduate student in Canada whose paper was on the ISA program, consider submitting to our Graduate Paper Prize for 2025 by July 15!

Hey #ISA2025, ever wonder how our growing dependence on the internet is impacting the environment? We have answers: Implications of Digitalization for Environmental Governance. Today, 1:45-3:30, in Conference Room 5H, Chicago Hilton. Come for the panel, stay for the collective hatred of Elon Musk.

Well, #ISA2025 is over for me! First child-free academic conference in years and I gave it all I had, in an amazing city! A lot of great convos and (re)connecting with folks, I’m grateful for such a generous community even in dire times and excited to get back to my little ones.

Totally non-theatrical regular-size room for this first #ISA2025 panel on planetary health. Looking forward to the presentations!

Had a fantastic workshop today, exploring potential synergies among datasets in environmental politics. @jhollway.bsky.social @rakhyunkim.bsky.social @noemielaurens.bsky.social @jenirisallan.bsky.social @cbrandi.bsky.social @alicevadrot.bsky.social @yixiansun.bsky.social & others

#ISA2025 without Twitter is anticlimactic. Finding people is going to be much harder.

Trump and Vance are parenting Zelensky like I am parenting my 4 yo after a long day of unsuccessfully working through a migraine: HAVE YOU SAID THANK YOU? HAVE YOU?? HAVE YOU??

I am very excited for #ISA2025! The pandemic + having young children + environmental concerns has led me to travel less. So I'm going to make the most of my trip to Chicago! Reach out if you want to meet! @isaess.bsky.social @isanet.bsky.social

A fun and interesting opportunity to reflect on the future GEP agenda!

This is how my 2 yo decided to ride the bus this morning when I asked her to wear an hat because it was a bit chilly and I hope all passengers had a better day because of her.

Sharing Pete's and colleagues' obituary here as well for those who might have missed it. We will miss Kristine dearly.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the need to consider more the notion of policy durability. That applies to so many sectors.

My MIL is coming to stay for a couple of weeks. If you need me, I’ll be cleaning the fridge and kitchen drawers.

“Scientists are not 100% certain that fossil fuels directly contribute to emissions and climate change”. Mmm I’d say we’re about as sure about climate change as we are about the Earth not being flat.

Excellent piece on the biases of AI in presenting environmental challenges and policies. Sharing with students right away!

ICYMI: Elon Musk’s net worth has more than doubled in the last 10 months.

Following the #DryJanuary model for its many health benefits, I propose an #NoAmazonFebruary for potentially many political, economic and environmental benefits.
