MISSTITCH: IMPOSSIBLILO ...is this anything?

I sent an email weeks ago to my rep @friedman.house.gov via @citizensimpeachment.com and received no response. But today I received a milquetoast form letter from her office thanking me for contacting her about...the GOP's budget?! The ineptitude is staggering.

Sinners, man. Go see it on the biggest screen you can.

Stop sleeping on The Righteous Gemstones, damn it.

RIP Richard Chamberlain, the original hot priest.

Wonderful Christmas Time by Paul McCartney, nothing else comes close

At any given moment I'm (over)thinking about Jonas Kahnwald

I'm officially going to #StokerCon this summer and I couldn't be more...stoked. *dodges tomatoes*

we're not throwing trans people under the bus for any fucking reason. None. There are two sides: the one that throws people under buses and the side that does not. Choose which one you are on.

I will die for you, A 4-Hour Long Video Essay on A Theme Park.

The government is about to give OpenAI the ability to legally steal if we do not flood this page in the next 12 hours. OpenAI will have immunity from all lawsuits regarding copyright infringement. All other AI companies will follow. Do you despise AI? Dissent, retweet. Do something. #furry #art

if you want a frame for anger at elected dems right now, you could do worse than this. “we trusted you when we wanted more in 2018; we trusted you when we wanted more in 2021; and, ultimately, you failed, and we still want more but no longer trust you”

Lumon after Dylan tripped the overtime contingency

I'm sick with some kind of feverish sinusy sore throat thing (not COVID, if the test is to be believed) and all I can muster the energy to do is play Balatro. And also send Balatro memes like this to my non-playing spouse, who endures so much.

this is _montana_. this could be everywhere if dems collectively followed zooey zephyr's lead instead of throwing the vulnerable to the wolves.

"If we throw minorities under the bus, Republicans will stop calling us too woke" is the same logic that got us Clinton's welfare cuts and Obama's immigration crackdowns. You can't policy your way out of a right-wing propaganda problem.

That was a quake

ok, cis folks—if you said you'd stand with trans folks, it's time. S.9 is the senate's sports ban bill—a big step to making trump’s executive order a federal law, which is much harder to undo. it can be stopped *monday.* short call scripts for dem & GOP senators ⬇️🧵 legiscan.com/US/bill/SB9/...

You had different dreams for yourself than having to meet this shit historical moment. I did too. I did too.

The other day my spouse had me watch the pilot of PARADISE knowing absolutely nothing going in and now I'm OB-SESSED.

I just really love books, you guys

The Trump regime's segregationist agenda is clear. I argue that having a Black man as president of white America enraged a portion of this country so much, that they decided to destroy any pipeline to Black advancement in academia, government, & workplaces. karenattiah.substack.com/p/trumps-seg...

I still can’t believe having to mask temporarily during a global pandemic broke so many people. It’s been 5 years & they’re still irrationally angry at the sight of a mask. They’ve abandoned all sense of self preservation and community care, and lives will continue to be lost because of it.

gritty has seized control of the federal government

Finally had the chance to watch MIND BODY SPIRIT yesterday. A tense and inventive entry into the found footage genre that, perhaps most importantly, validates my lifelong aversion to practicing yoga.

Convo with my friend from Hungary tonight who left after Orban’s election. She said “your head will spin with all the wild stuff they try to pull, new things every day, but don’t take your eyes off the money. It’s all about the money, and what they’re stealing, and for whom.”

Ah, the millennial experience of “every time you get some measure of financial and career stability, the world decides to do something extraordinarily stupid again”

For all my issues with Roth both when I was an undergrad and as an alum, I've been impressed with the communications from him and the Wesleyan admin these past several days. They're not backing down from protecting their students and they're not mincing words.

Come From Away is a "comfort musical" for me. I (perhaps oddly) find it soothing to listen to when traveling by air. I suppose it helps me to maintain faith in humanity, to remind myself that we're capable of such goodness. And it hits just a little different today, following Trudeau's speech...

Corporate leaders who were fine with Trump sadistically imposing mass suffering on vulnerable groups as long as they got their tax cuts deserve every last bit of what this madman is now unleashing on them with these tariffs. Assholes.

In case it helps someone: The phrase “We don’t do / say that here” is immensely useful in managing people who feel emboldened to try to push boundaries and test behaviour norms in your spaces. It’s a bland statement of fact, doesn’t contain an accusation, and can be used by anyone including peers.

If you’re a blue state legislator wondering how you can protect trans people right now, allowing birth certificates to be changed without listing them as “amended” so that we can still get passports is high on the list.
