In light of everything happening, I wrote about how the KKK in the 1920s felt unstoppable, about the people that fought against them anyway, and about how fascism always fails. dansinker.com/posts/202…

oh hell yeah!! amazing writer & team. Congrats!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🖤🖤🖤

SHIVERS - Meet me there -- wafting above the burnt ruins. Le Retour is waiting. ESPRIT DE CORPS - And Station 41 and the glow of its desk lamps, the clicking of coffee mugs, clouds of cigarette smoke and the ringing telephone... your youth. There is still a way back.

congrats to all the Stoker nominees but especially to my good friend @sashabrown.bsky.social who is not only the nicest human alive (this has been peer reviewed by multiple research papers) but ABSOLUTELY KILLING IT with the weird, unique and wonderful stories. So excited for you buddeeeee

ahh thank you for the tip! I was wondering about best alternative for audiobooks. Already canceled Prime forever, bought a non-Amazon e-reader, and spent a day downloading my 500+ Kindle books & removing DRM for use on other devices. Wish I'd done it sooner & not felt trapped by owning their devices

lololol. My government is giving me health care and a high speed train from my city to Montreal sir. So terrifying! Liberate me

From a local far-right newsletter: “Trump isn't coming to fight the woke mobs at the state and local level. That's our job - yours and mine.” You don’t have to be in DC to resist MAGA these fringe fucks are right there in your town. They call our local institutions “soft targets”

I miss the political news, discourse & education of Europe so, so much 😭 I knew the info bubbles & cultural biases in the US wd be intense but NOTHING prepared me for how rigid, inward looking & biased it really is here. It's inescapable, it's the air we breathe www.youtube.com/watch?v=DI7b...

Book Review: One Message Remains by Premee Mohamed A short collection of stories in a grim and engaging world mired in perpetual war. @princejvstin.com has our review for Friday at the NOAF blog www.nerds-feather.com/2025/02/book...

I'm so excited about this novella!! @ivygrimes.bsky.social is an incredible writer, and this story is absolutely wild. Get ready to meet some very strange characters hiding some even stranger secrets 👀👀

Living in a post-climate disaster world protected by a layer of artificial cloud, Mallory knows every shade of darkness. Every Dark Cloud will be available in March 2025. Pre-order now via our online shop: https://bit.ly/everydarkcloud

"When the emperor increased taxes, he proclaimed complaining a sin. He proclaimed himself an optimist, and decreed ‘his people’ share in that optimism, suppressing their suffering to make the world a happier place." Reads like a documentary now 😉 apex-magazine.com/short-fictio...

🏆☠️Oh yaaaay, an award for an anthology I have a story in! Congratulations to amazing editor @marissavu.bsky.social and the rest of the authors in this TOC of coastal New Weirdness!🎉 The Literary Nasties award from @filthyloot.bsky.social is “dedicated to authors who defy convention”

Thank you, Marissa and all the fine folks at Dark Matter INK, for taking a chance on me and my story “Hells Shells.” I still can’t believe that my work gets to sit alongside all the weird and mind-bending gems in this *award-winning* collection!! 🦑🏴‍☠️🫧 Congratulations, everyone!

I don't know...maybe more people should have spoken up when Universities called the police to beat up anti-genocide protesters and then expelled students and teachers who participated, instead of acting all surprised now that they're complying with fascist orders. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The ending of funding/research on climate change, ecological disasters, global outbreaks or solving problems is probably unsurprising to many around the world, since it was inevitable that white supremacist colonial capitalism would lead to authoritarianism that abolishes science & social justice.

In a sentence never before uttered by humans, I am delighted to share that an alligator stole my conservation instructor’s hat by jauntily walking into the water while wearing it 🐊

Once more pleading for more shattered world Dark Sun-esque fantasy in the submissions. Unsettling cadence, rich prose. Genuinely don't care about plot, just make the vibes fucked up.

Keep your 2024 speculative ecofiction stories coming in! These works are more important than ever as we face the terrible loss already underway. We're reading the dark & the hopeful, the sad & the comforting, the bleak & the inspiring. If you published ecofiction last year, we'd love to review it 💚

Congrats to THE OFF-SEASON’s wonderful editor @marissavu.bsky.social and all the incredible authors I am honoured to share a TOC with! This project was a joy to be a part of. 🌊 🖤 🪸 Thanks organisers @filthyloot.bsky.social and everyone who voted in the Literary Nasties or enjoyed this antho ✨ 🐀 ✨

This anthology I'm in won an award! I have never won an award myself, but this is the next best thing. @marissavu.bsky.social put together one of the most diverse, eclectic thematic anthologies I've ever read. Good stuff. Check it out if you haven't!

My story in this is one of my favorite I've ever written. Everybody brought their A-game for this one, and it's wonderful for Marissa's keen curative eye is being recognized.

The writing is beautiful like a spell, the characters are so real your heart will break, and the storyteller has the kind of talent that makes the real world disappear for awhile. Do not miss these.
