After an intense 2024, the #international #maritime #museum #hamburg would like to wish you all all the best for 2025! We have a lot of exciting projects in store for the coming year that we are eager to share with you. Have a happy New Years Eve!

During the #napoleonicwars and other conflicts of the early #19thcentury , Great Britain captured over 100.000 prisoners of war. Specially those taken early in the conflict, spent many years on British soil or shore.

It all started with a #gift. A six year old boy in #Hamburg had the flu and his mother brought him a little present to cheer him up. It was a 1:1250 scale miniature of a coastal freighter #ship, made by the modelling company Wiking. A #holidays Thread.
