I got some joy today from transplanting a couple of baby white oak trees. I enjoyed seeing the tap root on this one as I pulled it from the soil. I'm glad I got it done before tomorrow's rain.

Can't wait for the Party of Reagan to explain how Lech Walesa is a woke commie simp.

NEW: Senator Marshall (R-KS) RUNS AWAY, fleeing his own town hall after being asked about DOGE firing Veterans. MAKE HIM GO VIRAL.

Coordinates:34.336735, -109.627551. I've been puzzling this over for a long time. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Folks, you don't need drugs or alcohol when your soul is a clown-haunted funhouse drenched in kerosene, and squirrels are chewing on the electrical wires.

@repmcgarvey.bsky.social Thank you for the town hall tonight, thank you for keeping us informed, thank you for fighting for Kentucky, and thank you for fighting for the Constitution.

The what

Other board games and card games from this weekend: The Resistance (I've had the game for a decade, only played it a few times before, love it, and I'm very happy I could get it out); Cockroach Poker; 500 point Tichu (I scored a grand Tichu with a grand slam!); and Crokinole (watched, not played).

I am sure I am not the first to see this, but if you go to Google Maps right now (7am CT) and search for "Kremlin Headquarters," this is what comes up. 🤣

Over the weekend, I had the privilege of running a D&D game for these guys. Some had never played an RPG before, and some hadn't played in many years. We had a good time, and they brought some righteous wrath to some evil animated skeletons that were haunting an ancient evil temple.

This afternoon: A six-player game of Nexus Ops

Of all the Greek myths, Cassandra may be the most relevant these days. About half the country is warning the other half of terrible things about to happen, the terrible things always come true, & yet the people we're telling never believe us. wapo.st/3XarRku

Without friends

This is in fact a real picture and it will work nicely in the ads next year about the military families devastated by Elon's illegal firings.

I wouldn't trust these people to dogsit. I wouldn't trust these people to spend ten minutes with my daughters. I wouldn't trust these people to borrow my car for an hour. I wouldn't trust these people with my cast iron cookware. I wouldn't trust these people to fix a sandwich.

Two very close games of Lord of the Rings: Duel for Middle Earth tonight. The first game was a draw, and the second ended when the Fellowship (me) unexpectedly threw together an alliance with five free races + the eagles just before Sauron could claim a military victory. Run, hobbits, run!

I read a little today about Eugene Bullard, an American who flew for France as a combat pilot in WW1. He seemed like quite the badass.

Tichu night again! My first game since November, I think. We clobbered our opponents. I felt good about how I played, but also the other team had a few unlucky hands that coincided with Grand Tichu calls.

It's been well over 30 years since I read Douglas Adams's So Long and Thanks for All the Fish, and I don't recall much about the plot, but hardly a month has passed since without me thinking about Rob McKenna, the Rain God.

Can you spot any evidence that this establishment is dog-friendly? How about evidence that it's a little muddy outside?

@fetterman.senate.gov What in the Hell has happened to you?

Musk comes from a family that moved to South Africa *for* the racism. He has repeatedly endorsed Great Replacement Theory in the US & Neo-Nazis of the AfD in Germany. He championed the rights of white nationalists and restored Nazi accounts to Twitter. But I'm sure the Nazi salute was an accident.
