Why are we indulging the owners of dangerous animals? It is ridiculous. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

His mind is certainly boggled.

It must have been lovely for anyone who knew this guy to see the item on today's BBC breakfast show where a woman defends them to a guy whose kid got bit by one and he got asked to pat the fucking thing www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Why is the BBC on a mission to defend dogs? 11,000 people get bit, but they cannot focus on that because one owner says their XL Bully is lovely etc.

The Plains of Waterloo. It's rather a sinister song, but I fear a realistic one, about the exploitation of grief. Anyway that's my take, and this is my flatpicked version: on.soundcloud.com/TDd2WXMoFDqm...

I spent today cleaning up my bikes. Both date from the mid-1980s, both have been rebuilt by me several times using bits of other bikes. Both have a mechanical elegance I can't detect in alienating modern bikes with complex indexed gearing and cassette gears etc.

What did for McCarthy was when people just decided not to put up with his nonsense anymore. We aren't there yet.

So tricky when easy lies hit hard reality... but don't worry JD can just say it didn't happen

Oh yes, Justin, you're a victim here too. Sorry, diddums etc etc. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

A song I wrote after my father died about my great uncle who was killed in the war. No one ever spoke about him, but his shadow was long and I thought he merited an epitaph: on.soundcloud.com/TeLsBsE3CCy5...

“When I was younger, I was kind of fearless. I think it takes more courage to do things when you know more. I was completely naive, and I was like, ‘Why can’t I do anything I want to do?” - Carole King Photos: Sony Music Archives RCA Studios 1959

Lucille Bogan is mainly remembered for her obscene recordings. But leaving them aside, she was a hell of a gritty blues singer: youtu.be/-8fMXBgOQwQ?...
