Just finished watching Godzilla in Space, or rather, invasion of astro monster and now I need to sit back and reflect on the sheer unbridled kitschiness of it all…

I try and tweak the stores social media output to cater to each platform. If you mirror a post though, it amazes me how different the audiences are across them all. Take FB vs. Insta w/ my Kelly Reichardt post. Insta has half the audience but gives 4x the likes and infinitely more interaction.

Irrespective of our income, we all should have the ability to access great art for a nominal fee. Ordinary people are becoming priced out of watching great movies. Glad you enjoyed it!

Starting the day off with some Vincent Price, Disney, and Henry Mancini…

#RonShelton's bittersweet comedy drama White Men Can't Jump is a perfect #movie, 2nd only to Raging Bull in the sports sub-genre I'm not a huge basketball fan, but this #film is funny, warm, emotional & hugely authentic I could watch it on repeat Fans? vhsrevival.com/2023/03/21/t...

#Fridaythe13th Part 2, released #OTD, may be indicative of a character in transition, but it remains one of the finest in the series at a time when the newly controversial #slasher was red hot Here's a look at Jason's first outing as the franchise killer 👇 vhsrevival.com/2022/10/16/l...

Enjoyed this un a lot… thank ye Gods for @snipsmovies.bsky.social for making the revisiting of silver screen classics a financially sustainable pastime again.

Best way to start a Saturday morning? With a 3 headed kaiju Toho monster smackdown… that’s how.

New one from Matty Budrewicz on The Schlock Pit tonight! It's a look at Serge Rodnunsky's LIFE AFTER SOCKS (1992). Well, maybe not socks, but Bluesky doesn't like the other word and flags it as adult content... theschlockpit.com/2025/05/02/l...

'Long Live Physical Media: The Modern Video Store' is a short documentary by filmmaker Jake Shaw, and it's now up on YouTube. Go deep inside the heart of Snips Movies... www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EBW...

Enjoyed a spot of Godzilla carnage tonight…

One of my favorite Almodovar films

Midweek Almodovar shout out… Enjoyed revisiting this un immensely this evening. Still as transgressive, fizzy and outrageous as I recall.

Visited @snipsmovies.bsky.social with Mrs Ayling and came out of there with not a single movie pick of my own… Must be love. Or something…

Bit of a change up tonally tonight… love a bit of Fred and Ginger… the only film they did in technicolour…

I rather enjoyed this un…

It’s been a Slotherhouse kind of afternoon…

Now watching The Substance… feeling like this could get really rather messy…

It's Friday, so with the usual predictability, here's your new episode of Inside The Video Store. On this weeks show, the new stock keeps on piling in, with particular emphasis on Warner Archive and Mondo Macabro. youtu.be/G8DZP5oly1E

Settled down and strapped in for nearly three hours of Irwin Allen’s disaster epic… What. A. Cast… @snipsmovies.bsky.social

Early morning post Friday night gig movie viewing…

Another shark attack movie but this had some survival horror beats and disaster movie stuff to liven things up a bit… dare I say I am starting to crave a multi headed shark attack movie… @snipsmovies.bsky.social

Sitting here watchng Dr Who and loving it…

Frank. Probably my favourite cinematic rabbit, with Roger, Harvey and the wererabbit coming in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place… Happy Easter and whatnot…

The human algorithm has coughed up a few cool choices tonight on the Chez Ayling playlist… Happy Easter #physicalmedia and #music people of the world…

Kicking the Easter Weekend viewing off with this 1st @snipsmovies.bsky.social rental of the week… Dennis Potter and Sting… A dark, disturbing, riveting psychological Brit thriller… with Bonus Police soundtrack.

Watching The Wheel of Time S3… and pleased to note that the epic fantasy grandiloquence and earnest dialogue remains it situ…

Visually arresting gothic entry in the Orloc/Dracula annals of cinema. Disturbing and animalistic; packed with psycho-sexual horrors, the film is an atmospheric vampire yarn for the ages. Highly recommended.

First film of the night then. Classic Billy Wilder Sherlock Holmes effort. Not seen this one in ages. Love it.

Scratching my Shakespeare/theatre itch tonight with the clan in Stratford for the terrifically enjoyable Much Ado About Nothing…

Revisiting The Terminator… often forget how grubby the first one is. Great stuff…
