Morning everyone. eastangliabylines.co.uk/politics/ref...

Reform; Are responsible for Brexit & its disastrous consequences, Want to cut taxes for the already wealthy, Will tell you lies to get your vote & then ignore you, Are led by a grifter who sucks up to Trump, wants to adopt his policies in the UK, Are not to be trusted. Don't fall for their lies.

Farage and Reform whip up people’s prejudices, then offer to get rid of what they hate.Their power feeds off ignorance and hatred. They make people angrier about the stuff they fear, then promise to fix it. Of course they won’t. But they know who to tell you to blame when they fail. (Letters, Times)

After all the hoo ha - Reform still don't have that many councillors.

The LE results coming in are depressing. In my view, Labour should take some of the blame for this. After the GE they should have put clear blue water between them & Reform. Instead they tried to copy some of their rhetoric. It didn't work - people voted Reform anyway. 😡 Wake up Labour

The Green Party does a great job in local government. They have over 800 cllrs & control at least 2 District Councils. As Ellie said, they have experience & get the job done. Reform offers nothing except disinformation and inexperience. If you want to improve your local services - vote Green.

CBC finally calls Carleton - the Canadian Tory leader Pierre Poilievre has lost his own seat

Any chance of offering Carney a State Visit and a cosy tea with Charles? www.theguardian.com/world/2025/a...

Congratulations and well done to Canada and their new Prime Minister, Mark Carney. 🇨🇦

Some detail on Reform's plans for the NHS and how they don't add up. Nice one Julia - we need more people to stand up and expose these charlatans.

Thinking of voting Reform UK because you want a change? Be careful what you wish for – Reform UK are salespeople offering simplistic solutions that come with baggage that would cost you and the country By Cliff Mitchell

Keeping Reform out now will be easier than getting Reform later. StopReformUK.vote Vote tactically on May 1st, this Thursday. And join with your email to build this voting movement for more and more leverage in future elections. Together we build the independent political alternative. Thread /1

Yet another excellent Pecksniff - in this fine piece, he poses the question - why are Labour running scared of Reform when they are losing votes to The Greens? See the section on the Ipswich by-election where Adria Pittock (Green Party) came second to Labour. eastangliabylines.co.uk/pecksniff/pe...

In a six party system, it's essential to change to proportional representation. Otherwise you can have a landslide majority, while 80% of the population hate you and would never trust you to run a pigsty.

Britain told a generation that protest was pointless, disruptive, even un-British. Now, facing broken systems and a burning planet, that generation is starting to raise its voice. Stacey Richards reports.

Pecksniff is a worthy read this week. Excellent stuff. Also, the Stacey Richards piece on 'The lost art of protest' is stirring stuff. eastangliabylines.co.uk/pecksniff/pe...

Public services belong in public hands. Repost if you agree.

The Green Party are proving we can win seats from anyone. But we need feet on the ground to do it. We don't have super rich donors or constant TV coverage like other parties. We rely on volunteers. You could have Green councillors or a Green MP. This is the first step: join.greenparty.org.uk

🥀 Labour have failed at every turn. ⬇️ Reform are only offering hate and division and have no track record of delivery. 💚 Only the Green Party listens and responds to the needs of communities. 🗳️ Vote Green on 1 May for real hope and real change.

The Green Party have over 800 councillors, 4 MP's & 3 members of the London Assembly. They also control at least 2 district councils. They are an effective opposition to the cosy Lab/Tory status quo. If you want to make an anti-establishment vote this May, forget Reform, The Green Party is for you.

Hi @tomgordonld.bsky.social - as my MP please can you do the same. Thank you

@jessasatomp.bsky.social - as my MP can you urge Keir Starmer to prioritise rebuilding our relationship with The EU and push Trump's America onto the back burner.

Brexiters crowing about being hit with a 10% Trump tariff, rather than 20%. Ffs. Brexit costs us far more than 10% on goods to the US. Every day. We now have *both* to contend with, without the leverage of a powerful bloc. A crappy deal won’t save us. Please just STFU you stupid, stupid bastards.

Labour’s recent leaflet that boasts about deporting more people than the Tories is gross. Labour is failing to provide safe and legal routes into the UK for asylum seekers, while seemingly revelling in turning people’s lives upside down. My full response > greenparty.org.uk/2025/04/01/l...

They’re such a bunch of amateurs. Bullying and inept - quite a combo.

Hmm. Now might be a good time for the UK to strengthen relationships with our European neighbours 👀 By rejoining the Customs Union, the government could begin to overcome the obstacles that small businesses have faced in trading with our closest neighbours since Brexit www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The Telegraph recently ran a headline: "More than one million foreigners claiming benefits." Sounds shocking, right? But what does it actually mean? Let’s have a look! 🧵1/13 (1/1)

MP's know that Brexit has been a disaster and yet they will do nothing to undo it. It is pointless looking to the US for a way to boost our prosperity. Trump couldn't care less about us.
