In 2023, OECD net average income tax was 24.9% USA: 24.2% Canada: 25.6% Ours is slightly higher. But with that 1.4%, we get imperfect universal health care. In US, medical debt (held by 41% of Americans) is #1 leading cause of bankruptcy. Much rarer in Canada, where 17.5% hold medical debt.
