Sometimes the point of action is less about 'efficiency' and it's more about effectiveness. Right now, things are being scrutinized because they might not be perceived as 'efficient' by some measure,.when in fact we should be focusing more on their 'effectiveness' in getting the outcomes we want.

@animalspirits.bsky.social Re AI counterbalance. Sure it could, but a couple things on that. We don't have a monopoly on AI, as proven by deepseek, so no guarantee that we can reap all of the benefits. Also, we know there's some irrational exuberance in the market over AI at the moment.

I think people need to remember the "social" in social media: it's about who you want to be social and associated with, and also just as if not more importantly, who you don't want to be social and associated with.
