After 20 years of service, the Highlander is retiring. To DC and back again, lots of off roads and urban streets and the roomiest backend, the cost of repairs just outweighed the need for something reliable. Happy trails, Car-Car! 😢

Perfect night to lay outside and tune in 💫

I'm always worried Joan is going to get lost to time. A voice that immediately transports me to where I need to be

I’m EXHAUSTED but the garden is in the ground. My yarrow went alpha during the offseason

Something very strange in the works today…

These folks (movies and music fans are equal offenders) are why I avoid people

Glad to see the attack on federal health services covered so heavily tonight by mainstream outlets. Thanks to 60 Minutes and John Oliver, more you will understand what I’ve been screaming about for months

Proof point transit sucks in the Plains states. I would so hop on a high-speed rail ride across Kansas to catch this

All-Female hour of Power! Crayons to Perfume Thurs 7pm et, classic & unexpected girl group sounds! On WFMU RocknSoul Radio @wfmu.bsky.social @wfmurocknsoulradio.bsky.social

I don't get how anyone can possibly be okay with ending the WHI. This study has accrued decades of data from 42000 women and it is still going. It helps to address critical research gaps that have been allowed to go unfilled because of durable misogyny and provides invaluable insight into aging.

I agree that HHS’ deidentified data network could use work, but neutrality is core to reserach and discovery. Government provides this as a centralized reserach partner to the private sector. The inherent data bias driven by the desire to profit runs risk of invalidating any future studies

Was so happy to make old fashioned chicken and dumplings on this rainy day. The recipe is from the old Leona Yarbrough’s in Fairway. Fucking fantastic

Needed for when I go to sprinkle more cheese dust on my popcorn

The best thing about unemployment has been having time to just lay in bed with the windows open and listen to the birds sing

My background in photography and interest in 60s counterculture makes this story extra-special. Sharing with you all because it's so intriguing

Phil Greenwood(Welsh, b.1943) Blossom - 2003 - etching

Watched 1972’s The Getaway to check out the Quincey Jones score. A welcome surprise it starred Ali MacGraw—it reminded me that her and Katherine Ross were my childhood platonic crushes

My Mom was obsessed with the Log Lady. Too bad she won’t be around to watch this

I’m so glad I’m of the age when no one expects me to go out on Fridays

I’ve learned to be cheap where it counts to save for non-retirement. Tip: one can de-crystallize honey by heating it up for about 5 minutes in low boiling water. This stuff is too costly to throw away
