I want to create lines that are unmistakably mine

WIP Mars Dorian line-drawing with ink and acrylics of a wondrous man

Added some white explainers to my newsletter image—kinda like having these superimposed on my photos—will do it more often

Buying these 70s chairs from a handyman to repaint them in my own style—black and white line art all the way

Create the kind of art today that you'd be embarrassed of in a year

No art pics from me today went to my great-aunt's birthday on the countryside Including: super-sized Schnitzel My cold-a*s face in the winter sun pretty horses on a snowy landscape near Berlin

Created this Birthday card today for my great-aunt who’s reaching her mid-80s this year.

A Chinese friend of mine was smiling 2 weeks ago when weather was mild that day. “Spring has finally arrived in Berlin,” she said, hoping for the warmth. Little did she know about Februarys in Germany:)

Got a lot more Bluesky followers and artwork likes in November/December 2024 even with far fewer followers. Did the algorithm change? Or is there like a beginner BS boost?

I've just set up my first newsletter where I'll share my art lessons, announcements (like upcoming art shows) and views/experiences from my art biz life. If you dig my art and want to learn more about it, sign up. It's free: marsdorian.substack.com

A wild sketch I created under the influence of David Choe‘s experimental music „Mangchi—the best“

Busy day today: - learning about using my line art on furniture - applying for art residencies in China, the US and Canada - creating a new lookbook for my newest line art designs - connecting with fellow artists, exchanging experiences

Today‘s sketch of two lovers feeling like they‘re kings of the world (Experimenting with different character types nowadays)

When the world around you goes crazy, creating art and sharing it will keep you sane so make + share make + share make + share and stop fretting about the things you can't control

Experimenting with card-sized art design Very rough around the edges (literally) but I’m learning

Daily sketch number 12 „He knows what‘s up“ Channeling some Jamie C. Hewlett and a manga character here

Just a got a new design deal with a Youth service organization funded by the gov. They‘re also curious about me holding creative workshops to teenagers IF my concept convinces the decision makers. Braiiiiinstorming time!

No Angel Daily sketch number 12 about a young light-obsessed rebel kicked out from above… but with style

The new Daily sketch ended up looking like a Manga version of Chucky the murder puppet but it‘s all about experimenting anyways

Finally treated myself with a brand new Beamer that I can use to project my digital drawings on canvas and repaint and redraw them in ze physical form Hehehehe

Character sketch for a horror story that never went beyond the concept stage. Had a real spooky theme about identity change through cursed masks One day maybe ;)

Daily sketch number 9 She‘s still trying to find her style (At least she‘s getting closer)

Working on more clothes nowadays, trying to not only give then some personal ooomph but also ensure the colours stick with each washing

Draw draw on anything Cardboard? Sure why not The world is your sketch book

Watching the superb Anime “Look Back” about two driven girl manga artists while scribbling with a gel pen into my sketch boom

Daily sketch number 9 Inspired by Ohotnig Weird inside out Made on my iPad Pro via Procreate

Daily sketch number 8 She‘s gonna make 2025 a Homerun

I once created all the surfer-anecdotal illustrations for the non-fiction book “Unmistakable”, published by Penguin Portfolio Fun gig!

Sketch number 7 Fall victim to your Seductions* *life is rich when you‘re lost

An indie cover I had designed over a decade ago—it’s about regaining confidence as a writer. I’d TOTALLY design it different today, but hey, that’s what you can always say afterwards, eh?

Sketch number 6 Pain Builds Personality * *it‘s a mindset

Sketch #5 Bloody nose Sick Style

Sketch number 4. It‘s not just the late summer sun that‘s frying her nerves

this year will be the year where I'll have my biggest exhibition so far and create the best art I'm currently capable of just watch me

Daily sketch number 3 She‘s pissed, literally, but she‘s old enough to understand how things are already running

After years of feeling stressful when giving speeches about my art, I'm SLOWLY starting to feel confident. Improving my style + getting used to public speaking is the killer combo here

Got my proposal with my partner approved for a major gallery event during Artweek at the Center if Berlin this week. Biggest project for me so far but that’s how you grow, right?

Daily Sketch #0002 Dude chilling with his familiar, without a care in the world, or so he pretends Handmade by Mars Dorian

From now on, I want to do a sketch every day for the rest of 2025 just to jumpstart my creativity and see how far my style changes. „Cheeky“ shall be my first!

A digital collectible I created in a minimalist, LINE intensive style from a bird's perspective. This kind of style was the start of my heavy line focus--where black outlines with some color support become core MARS DORIAN art
