“Your outie does combat sports after clocking out at Lumon, which is why you have new bruises every day.” #severance

In light of *gestures around at, y’know, everything* I hope Tom from MySpace is doing well.

Personally offended that my computer’s spellcheck doesn’t recognize Nyarlathotep as a word.

Living with social anxiety means this gif is basically my whole internal monologue 24/7

Do cozy fantasy stories present any limits? #TBRCon2025 poses that question for @marshalljmoore.bsky.social (mod) , @travisbaldree.bsky.social , @stephanieburgis.bsky.social , @sarahbethdurst.bsky.social , @momteacherwriter.bsky.social & Mariana Costa, to discuss !

I’m rereading A Christmas Carol and we don’t talk enough about the fact that Bob Cratchit’s first instinct on Scrooge raising his salary is to beat the old man into submission and then have him committed to an insane asylum. #achristmascarol

Writers, let’s all share a piece of writing advice that we’ve found helpful. I’ll start: The larger the cast of characters, the more you run the risk of losing reader attention. If multiple characters are serving the same story role, try condensing them into a single character. #writingcommunity

I’m a Muay Thai coach. At the end of each class while we’re stretching I have everyone give feedback to the person next to them, specifically one thing they think that person did well this class and one thing they can work on for next time.

Happy Psycho Day to all who celebrate!

If you see this, post a vampire and pass it on 🧛‍♂️

I’m thrilled to announce that today is the release day for Enemy of the Empire, the third book in my Son of a Sailor series!! Captain Redbeard’s adventures continue as he searches for the legendary Valley of Gold alongside a band of unlikely allies. 🏴‍☠️

Okay this one sounds fun. Mash that heart icon for Marshall backstory. One like = one piece of lore.

Holy heck!

I’ve always been an outliner, but this current WIP is proving difficult to puzzle out the plot. The solution I’ve settled on is to outline until I lose steam, then switch to drafting scenes I know will be safe from getting cut later. It’s messy but seems to be working so far. #writingcommunity

Oh hey look it’s my friends from BookTok

One skill I’m attempting to work on as a writer is allowing myself the grace to give myself time to take a break whenever my momentum starts to slow, so that I can come back and reexamine the scene, outline, etc. with fresh eyes once my brain’s had time to mull it over. #writingcommunity

Okay so did everyone else suppress the memory that Fall Out Boy had a Lost Boys homage music video where they were all vampires or is it just me

Hi. I'm Marshall, a writer in Atlanta, GA. About me: • I've had 5 novels and 30+ short stories published 📚 • I’ve got a manuscript on sub 📖 • I was born & largely raised in the Marshall Islands 🇲🇭 • I love travel, reading, & cats 😸 • I'm a Muay Thai and kickboxing instructor 🥊

Any other writers on here struggling to get back into the habit this week? I’ve spent a lot of time staring at an empty page lately. If you’ve got any tips or tricks for getting your brain unstuck, I’d love to hear them. #amwriting #writingcommunity
