66 years ago today, Bishop Willie Walsh was ordained in the Basilica of St John Lateran, the Cathedral Church of Rome. Today, on his anniversary, and two days after his passing, I went to the same to remember him. I was privileged to concelebrate the evening Mass.

It was a joy yesterday, as part of an ecumenical church leaders’ pilgrimage, from Norfolk and Waveney, to greet Pope Francis and give him a bowl carved by Brian Wooden from a yew tree from @dioceseofnorwich.bsky.social Yew is an ancient tree commonly found in English churchyards.
