Malicious compliance makes me happy

Disappointing to see the limits of ChatGPT being hit a lot more regularly than previously. I do lots of iterative work in areas I'm not very good at like code which takes lots of steps and repeats. Then again - I'm very aware of the impact on the environment too. But it's a poor paid experience.

This is a handy little controller to carry on flights etc. Really powerful, but I'm not absolutely sold on the form factor. That said the convenience and sheer power is incredible. #review #gaming

Full round up from the Virgin Media 5Gb launch announcement. 🤑 likely to be over €100 per month! 🏎️ it's fast, but do people need it? "If you are experiencing buffering in your home, I'd look at checking your Wi-Fi strength away from your modem and potentially running LAN cables to key devices"

Virgin Media today announced they are launching 5Gb broadband in Ireland. Little light on details at the moment but will be writing about it soon. I do wonder was the real world benefits are. I have a very tech heavy gaff running 0.5Gb and g have no issues.

An yay it was written. The sun emerged on the 1000th day of the longest winter.

Even the RTÉ site has had enough

I’m really trying to ignore this shit. But that’s gold.

If he couldn't make it - it would be slightly funny.

A thread where I'm going to rate things I've impulsively bought on Amazon. Starting with my heat pad (shared with herself which means I never have it). 7/10 - saves me microwaving heat packs on the regular

I should have known Flight Risk didn't deserve a spot on my watch list. Only made it to the halfway point before ducking out. Utterly awful movie. Not a "so good it's bad" movie, it's just utterly awful. Potentially the worst film I've ever seen in contention with The Assassination of Jesse James.

There’s been a predictable increase in Garda visibility in Dublin following that stabbing. Optics that will wear away over time until the next fatal attack. Someone needs to realise that policing a city centre isn’t a luxury. It’s an every utility. Proactive - not reactive.

important info - also change to Kobo. I did, no regrets - though I'm not a massive reader.

Samsung's AI-powered washing machine just confirms to me that companies have no idea how to sell AI to consumers. Because most consumers don't need it. Just lash AI onto the feature list there and tick the box.

Big week ahead for my product building plans. It’s application week to phase one of new frontiers. It’s very much a long shot with a 10% chance of success. But here goes nothing. Light candles or what ever modern equivalent there is.

Hadn’t heard about this unfortunately. Should have gotten more coverage. Fair play to the Eagles for not bowing to ring kissing. Ring kissing in all forms. www.npr.org/2025/02/14/n...

Is it not genuinely important to give extra prominence to the fact he was also stopped by a Syrian food delivery driver.

Roses are red. My unRAID server HDDs are WD Red. My homelab processor is in the red. Built this, now my bank account is red.

Btw. My fave part of this story is that in my second redundancy meeting of 2024 (as in my second time losing my job on a year), I was already saying I wanted to build this. So 2025 has had an exciting start. Next up. Application for Enterprise Ireland New Frontiers Phase 1.

Incredible week of progress for the startup I’m venturing into creating. On Monday I sent out the first of my market research surveys. I had been putting this off but every advisor said to do it. At COB today it had hit exceeded the number of responses needed.

I just checked in on Twitter. The Irish times, with 800k followers just has a stream of posts with zero likes, RTs or comments. He’s killed the place

Teddy Swims kicked off his tour in Düsseldorf last night and sang from the toilet. Great show. His “backing” singers are stunning. Quotes because he gives them centre stage several times.

I find the idea of Musk wanting to transition OpenAI from not-for/ -profit to a for-profit firm hilarious. He absolutely rail roaded Twitter into being a far-from-profit.

Good old Ticketmaster. No email telling me a gig moved venue completely. Making my 10 minute u-Bahn trip to from the hotel a 45-minute trip. By chance herself spotted the change. How has this monopoly survived?

If media cycles and algorithms are to stick to form, I should be due exposure to the "no, the half-time show wasn't a metaphor for Black History" content any minute now.

The incredibly frustrating thing is you’ll see comments like “lawless Dublin”. Literally this is happening because we’re doing nothing. Fund more police on the streets and let them dig the heads off lads on scramblers. Fixed.

Sometimes content just ticks all the boxes! This is fantastic from Aer Lingus. Bravo.

Whenever I see these posts, I know myself I’m old beyond my years. Born in 88 and Windows 3.1 was still the second operating system I used 🤣 Bonus point if you know the first.

Paddy Cosgrave getting cancelled for speaking out against The State of Israel's war crimes in Gaza and not the other mad shit he's done or said over the years, is actually my Roman Empire. I've just realised it pops into my mind regularly.
