Had an interview. Felt good. Now to wait.

Interesting that in the last six-ish weeks of GPU benchmark tests and reviews, no one mentions the budget-friendly A770 and B580. And I'm still left wondering how well a 7900XTX or 9070XT can render in Blender. #GPUs #Rendering #NotJustForGaming #Benchmarks #NerdThings

It feels perhaps excessive to need a thermal imager and an anemometre when buying and installing modern PC components. #14thGenIntel #Nvidia4090 #Nvidia5090 #12V-2x6connector But also at least I can find some uses for them around the house.

Here's hoping the RX9070 launch doesn't result in 7900 series cards skyrocketing in price. #gpu #amd #nvidia #whatthehell

What are your opinions about dressing for an interview? Seems to not be much of a thing anymore. #interviews #firstimpressions

Pinned Bluesky to my homescreen. Started writing my SpecReqs 2025 assignment. Started recollecting Blender rigs that I stupidly lost (100% user error). Hopefully I will be more active with likes and reposts here!!

"Hot" take in general: if you use AI to massively touch-up your photos to the point I think you're AI-generated, I assume that you use AI and treat you as such. Navigating around AI "content" takes way more effort than it should.

I am bad at social media-ing. I keep forgetting to check.

Pro: Blender is free and widely supported with tutorials. Cons: baking particle effects and physics can take a while. Pro: it's less time to bake and rebake compared to rendering even a lowres render in Maya to see the outcome. Con: you might see some VFX spam here.

Let's acknowledge #NabobCoffee for creating packaging for coffee grinds that is almost entirely recyclable except for the seal which is merely a thin layer. I appreciate that. Other companies can take notice to reduce their plastics. Cereal boxes. Toilet paper. Bread.

Note to self, ask for an Ocarina in 2024

Sometimes it's fun to see what things you've done or consider normal, but are still on bucket lists for other people; and vice versa of course.

All these @scalzi.com posts give me the urge to read "Old Man's War" and more
