Bonkers, brilliant, poignant, uncomfortable, laugh out loud (incl involving a policeman near the start, IMO). 5hr round trip car journey but so worth the effort. I missed to understand some of the humour and sometimes missed to hear/understand some dialogue. Subtitles helped (Mockingbird Birmingham)

Loved watching The People's Joker by @veradrew22.bsky.social at @cpxmcr.bsky.social this weekend. An honest, raw depiction of trans identity, as well as a fast-paced, silly and sharp comedy. With real indie filmmaking spirit instead of dull corporate sheen, it's the best superhero movie in years.

“The People’s Joker” was the best film I saw in 2024. @veradrew22.bsky.social is a visionary with the most knife-like (positive) sense of humor I’ve ever experienced. She showed me what is possible when you yell the truth boldly into the face of the fearful. This film is a true masterpiece.
