Right, in this clip, because you are getting a scoop from the Guard, the iDL needs to work off the Center.
Again, he got double-scooped (which is not ideal), but his ricochet vertical helps funnel the RB.
Against a regular zone, the iDL would play a true lag or knock-back-fall-back technique.

Newsome is inconsistent at best & Emerson slipped compared to last year.
If they think they think he's better than Emerson, then yes, but you still need a Ni.

Yes, but most don't realize it since the game is played in the middle of the field.
Most still think the best CB travels with the best WR & that's actually rare in today's game.

I had a conversation about this with my wife.
Having worked in football my entire life, I do not find other men 'handsome' like she thinks other women are 'pretty.'
They get bucketed as athletes or non-athletes depending on their ankles, waist, and shoulder widths in correlation to how they walk.
