the weirdest thingā€™s that I learned about the leaks from my wife seeing Hilary Clintonā€™s LinkedIn post to the NYT report

strong opinion: an LLM agent that summarizes documentation is not useful. Just point to the section in the documentation upon query

mind you, I placed this little application in k8s not because I expect to scale out to a level that needs it, but because I expect someone to ask me "how does it scale"? there's a whole category of problems we bring down on ourselves because we're over-anticipating unnecessary "scaling"

I think bit of documentation I just wrote illustrates the complexity burden of Kubernetes nicely. `go run` vs `docker run` vs `kubectl apply` to perform local testing

well, inexpensive if youā€™re not paying tuition (I am not)

least expensive high quality meal in Boston at Harvard Business School. Iā€™m content piggybacking on billionaires subsidies for now. Just have to grab the free parking or walk over the bridge. Theyā€™ll probably close the building to outsiders once they finish building those Allston apartment towers

yall pass by too many people with two second encounters and you walking with your head down in your phone. spend 30 seconds telling someone TODAY what is happening in their own fucking city. iā€™ve been out here a week and people donā€™t know whatā€™s going on in their own town. you donā€™t either.

before you panic look at how much your state spends on education. iā€™m not gonna lie i will show yall a photo of the worst school in my city and yall can show it to yours if it looks like shit. iā€™m literally going to an oakland town hall tuesday to do this because there is no excuse for what i see.

People say academia doesn't need print books or journals any more - but the printed material may be all that survives the next 50 years, let alone the next 500.

WELL! Iā€™m guilty of posting before the facts brought forward. www.cbsnews.com/news/rasha-a...

picked up where I left off on this essay earlier, and floored by this quote from Toni Morrison open.substack.com/pub/tembe/p/...

seen talk about post Reconstruction starting with President Hayes, and peak Jim Crow with President Wilson, but I havenā€™t seen much about the counter Civil Rights movements during Nixon. I donā€™t understand Nixon era, as many programs dismantled by Trump started then. And Biden was there back then

Dodgers have my favorite collection of current ballplayers and I want them to win, but I just canā€™t call myself a Dodgers ā€œfanā€. Iā€™m keeping my Chi Sox hatā€¦ a recordā€™s a record šŸ˜‚

hereā€™s something special. An accordion lead rock song, with a rhythm and bass line reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac ā€œTuskā€, about Damballah, the great loa or god of Haitian voodoo or did Fleetwood Mac incorporate the rhythm into their song via Louisiana creole? open.spotify.com/track/69DolE...

I missed this album last year. Better late than neverā€¦ the brass chorus on this track summons some kind of ancestral powers open.spotify.com/track/0EDebl...

spent 3 days messing with Google Cloud today, I took just a couple hours to rewrite everything in Go with Sqlite and simple Dockerfile to get what I actually wanted *plus* integration with the single Google API call I needed

a cli that runs a build tool that wraps docker that builds a container to push to a service abstraction over kubernetes that runs a process which ultimatelyā€¦ makes an HTTP POST to trigger the actual code. Iā€™m over this shit. Give me a systemd unit file please.

does anyone actually use Google Cloud Functions? The documentation and tooling are unbelievably terrible

need to shout this whenever learning something new

the libs have never figured out the difference between empathy and projecting. silence them when they talk about mental health.

drives me crazy that not even Gemini understands Google Cloud's various SDK documentation

I always got a book recommendation loaded because I basically be eating those mfs lol.

Iā€™m not sure what irks me more: the performative vulnerability or the performative empathy (in response). Both make it close to impossible for the genuinely vulnerable and empathetic to be heard, and believed.
