I do smell pretty nice, it must be said. 🥰

The stressful thing about living in the US right now is that, every day that I go out, I remind myself to not be a bystander if I see anything go down. It's a constant commitment to go to jail protecting some poor innocent. In unrelated news, my mental health has inexplicably declined this month.

Every Nextdoor post in my area is about which shops do or do not have ice melt/rock salt for pavement. Everywhere has been sold out. We've had the roads and car parks covered in ice for about two weeks now lol

I see that the US is now selling plenary indulgences for hopeful migrants.

does anyone else think about frida kahlo’s bus accident every single time you ride a bus or is that just me

One of my favourite things about Massachusetts is that I can lecture a class on sectarian religious violence in the North of Ireland while wearing a Celtic FC hoodie and I have one student in the back of the hall wearing a literal IRA t-shirt calling out "up the RA!"

My vision for the world is an apple orchard in every village, a mushroom patch in every forest, and a cloudberry patch on every hill.

A new personal favorite

Going to teach about religious strife in Scotland and the North of Ireland, and not being too subtle about where I stand.

Sleeping Beauty (1959) A film where nearly all the main characters are female and three woman ultimately save the princess from another woman. People miss this when they complain that Aurora is the ultimate damsel in distress. She's not the protagonist, the Three Fairies are!

I've been getting lots of Fuji apples lately. I've never been overly fond of them, but they've been the most fragrant apples at the supermarket. Very soon, my little saplings, I will make the apple trees bud and bloom, and by August we will have some delightful treats again! 🍎🍏🍏🍎🍎🍏

Loungefly is finally making Black Cauldron merch and I have bought all of it.

I have a new phone and a new tin whistle—and now a clever new case for it—so I think I'm feeling the euphoria of 'retail therapy' for a change. (I don't buy myself a lot of things usually.) TREAT YOURSELF!

A little cardinal at the kitchen window!

I'm not THAT whiny. >.<

Absolutely we can.

I had to cut down the video to make it fit in a minute, but here's me trying out my new low D Lír whistle. (The Butterfly slip jig)

My Lír low D whistle has come in! I get to do piper's fingering finally. It sounds really great and the intonation is wonderful! I am extremely happy with it.

And to think that you could have had ME for queen for all these long years I've been on the internet offering to take the job. You all thought I was joking, but look what I would have saved you from? If you're going to have a monarch, might as well have an Apple Maiden!

Good morning! Crocuses, cyclamens, and primroses in the same spot! 🌱

One of the best things about Massachusetts is that I will just meet people from Galway speaking Irish to each other, and then I'll join in (speaking Irish/Scottish Gaelic pidgin) and I have new friends immediately.
