It is so sad that we’ve come to need this at all, but having just had the sex on one of my legal docs forcibly “corrected” after more than a decade of it listing my legal gender, I get the despair many trans folks are feeling right now. It’s cruel and invalidating. Please call if you need it 🩵

At first glance, this just seems funny (&ridiculous). But it’s also a sobering look at how thoroughly this admin is trying to erase the existence of queer citizens. It might have started with trans folks but it absolutely won’t end with us. Speak out while you’re still legally allowed to do so.

The man who officiated marriages in SF years before marriage equality was legalized federally (or even in the state of California) just said trans athletes are a threat to cis women in sports, agreeing with a far-right pundit. Link is below to tell him exactly what you think about this.

my fellow Californians of good moral character… trans people need you, *i* need you, to tell Newsom exactly what you think of him saying trans Californians (in a trans! sanctuary! state!) aren’t worth protecting PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS SLIDE

1. Today, powerful speeches from trans representatives in Montana SJ Howell and Zooey Zephyr flipped 29 Republicans, killing anti-trans bills. While some Dems like Newsom abandon trans people, these reps show the power of representation. Watch their speech. Subscribe to support our journalism.

This. This, this, this. Elected Dems are throwing us to the wolves.

As a fmr agency lawyer and admin law practitioner, some tips for comments: 1) Write more than 3-5 pgs, even if it’s repetitive. Agencies may ignore “non-substantive” comments and 3-5pgs is a rule of thumb. 2) Get specific and concrete. “In paragraph 36 you’re wrong bc…” 3) Don’t use form comments.

Please send your comments now! Our trans and genderfluid friends deserve a passport that accurately reflects their gender identity.

A lawsuit has been filed in US District Court (MA) over the government’s anti-trans passport executive order. May this discriminatory policy be overturned quickly. abcnews.go.com/Politics/tra...

A SINGLE BRUTAL FATE author copies are in🖤 🗡️

This lovely review captures so much of what I was hoping to achieve when writing this story 🩵

Well if my flight is gonna get canceled because of the snowstorm, at least I get to enjoy watching the dog have the time of her life at home

Trans peeps, QRP with a pic of yourself you love. I love pics of myself with my pets and pics that are skating related - all things that bring me joy 😊

This is why marginalized communities need outspoken allies. By advocating for us, these allies are also helping preserve their own liberties.

Time to focus on the good things: a recent interview I did with @bookoflife.bsky.social on Jewish Joy. Being Jewish is a huge part of who I am and I’m so grateful I get to tell stories that center Jewish characters and all their diverse experiences 🩵 multiculturalkidblogs.com/2025/02/10/j...

This. Ana on the Edge has been challenged or banned in more US states, counties, school districts, and libraries than I can even keep track of. My sales don’t rise because of them, they stagnate. And fewer trans and nonbinary kids get to see themselves in stories as a direct result.

Shameless plug for my earlier reported story to remind folx that book bans are oppressive & have particularly adverse mental health outcomes for children from marginalized backgrounds: web.archive.org/web/20231218...

The people who read our books are kids. They don’t have money to spend. They don’t subscribe to publications that review books. They find us at the library. If the books aren’t there, it’s like they don’t exist. And that makes kids feel like *they* don’t exist.

A good article about the EO that's leaving so many trans folks applying to renew or update their passports in limbo. To date, the ACLU has received notices from over 1700 people who have been affected. www.vox.com/politics/399...
