EP title of the week for me. Nice tunes, too open.spotify.com/album/628Va0...

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll hurl

Of course, absolutely reasonable that this album should be 25 years old. Nothing horrifying about that at all

Feels like we might just be back. Respected what they did with Infinite Granite but it wasn't, honestly, what most of us were looking for after your Sunbathers and your Ordinary Corrupt Human Loves, was it? This bangs though! www.youtube.com/watch?v=2h_W...

ONE of the best albums of the last 24 days. A very bold claim

Alright, I'm ill and the darts is on. Must be time for the TOP TEN ALBUMS OF THE YEAR: 10-5: 10 Doechii - Alligator Bites Never Heal 9 Thank - I Have a Physical Body... 8 Couch Slut - You Could Do It Tonight 7 Infant Island - Obsidian Wreath 6 Ex Easter Island Head - Norther 5 Jamie xx - In Waves

grindcore has roots in hxc punk & metal, lyrically addressing politics & society. screamo is a subgenre of emo, which also has roots in hardcore punk but is more melodic with some clean vocals & lyrics dealing with depression, romance, and death. guy at the grocery store: get the fuck away from me

Gonna be a lot of "neeeed that t-shirt"s out there today open.spotify.com/album/72pxRH...

Enjoying the new National live album. Nice to be reminded that they're still an exciting and atmospheric live act, despite their later albums descending into very samey treacle-y ballad territory.

This one, sure, fair enough.

For advent I want to write something about a 2024 album I’ve enjoyed each day (then the big top ten at the end). In no particular order, then (other than broadly chronological) here is a thread:

Kendrick Lamar, bloody hell.

Nice Pitchfork piece on the 20th anniversary reissue of MM..FOOD. Not my favourite DOOM record by any stretch, always found it a bit lightweight stacked against Madvillainy and (later) Born Like This, but always good to have a reason to stick the big man on regardless. pitchfork.com/reviews/albu...
