🚀 In 2025, #CESAB will launch a call to fund IdeaShare & DataShare projects, advancing BIODIVERSITY research & interdisciplinary collaboration 💡 IdeaShare: Develop new concepts, models & methods 📊 DataShare: Assemble, curate & share biodiversity datasets 📆 Opening in April Stay tuned ! 🌈 🌐🧪🌍🦤🍁

Help SFS set our strategic direction by taking our member survey before Jan 31st! tinyurl.com/SFSSP25 Your feedback is crucial for developing our 5-year Strategic Plan and ensuring we meet member needs. We currently have very few responses to the survey and need YOUR input.

End of the year lab hot pot. Fantastic group to work and share a meal with. #eDNA #fisheries #macroinvertebrates #biomonitoring

New study highlights the importance of clean coastal waters for sustainable shellfish farming! Predictive models can help manage E. coli, reducing economic losses from shell fishery closures. Real-time data is key! #MarineScience #Sustainability Read more: www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Very excited to have Aden from @ednacollab.bsky.social visit our lab and chat about all things #eDNA.

My favorite phrases to hear from my wife, generally in this order, "Aiya!" "What are you doing?!?" "Stop being crazy!"

Finishing off this season’s #freshwater #macroinvertebrate #eDNA campaign in Tai Lam. Now back to the lab for the rest of the dry season to work through the samples.

3rd Generation #eDNA here we go. Many thanks to our inter-departmental HKU collaborators. #nanopore

Treking through the Northeast end of the New Territories. Few random dog encounters mixed with some nice natural streams. Just shy of our site goal for the season. #eDNA #macroinvertebrates

Our initial Hong Kong #Chironomidae survey is done. Elaine is busy making sure we get the traps down before Christmas. Over 200 new additions to the species checklist so far from the sample sorting. #biodiversity

Finished a busy week sampling around the Tai Tam reservoir system. Hong Kong does not have any natural lakes, but the reservoirs help keep a good part of Hong Kong somewhat rugged.

Busy day getting the next sets of NGS libraries ready for sequencing for Luke’s and Ginger’s respective projects. #eDNA #biomonitoring #robotics

Off and about Mui Wo today. Slight panic attack when Dr. Han Wu repacked the pump so I ‘wouldn’t be carrying too much.’ Another productive day with a great group and great weather. #freshwater #eDNA #macroinvertebrates

Year two, season one, of our Hong Kong freshwater macroinvertebrate & eDNA bio-assessment. Six streams across Lamma island today.

Large scale study sheds light on complex arthropod global biodiversity dynamics, emphasizing the role of regional factors in shaping beta-diversity patterns. Additional Insights into species replacement and richness differences for understanding global metacommunity dynamics. t.co/zjygVL1Mv2

Let‘s try a #metabarcoding starter pack to nucleate people interested. Welcome molecular #biodiversity monitoring people. Let’s try to keep us posted on updates regarding papers, projects, methods. Happy weekend.☀️#eDNA go.bsky.app/Qvqgknp

Hey everyone. Here is my first attempt at an environmental DNA (eDNA) starter pack. Sorry if there is another one going around. If you would like to be added, let me know and I'll eventually figure out how. go.bsky.app/JWwncz6
