50% whole wheat sourdough. Baking my way through 2025. #bakingsky

Thank you Noah & Dan for having me on! I don’t know how you do it, but you make talking about failure really fun.

Last night I learned that all dogs have a third eyelid. If there’s anything else you all have been hiding from me, now is your chance.

Proud that my Rep is out there making all the right noise, communicating to her constituents, and calling out bullshit. We need more Reps like Simon. Call yours today!

1. One way to look at things is that if the courts can buy us some time – not save us – but buy us some time, that gives us the opportunity to try to galvanize people and perhaps institutions to push back. Not saying “everything will be ok,” because I don’t believe that, just offering some ideas.

I never thought I’d live long enough to be nostalgic for the innocence of the George W Bush era.

Dear government, Welcoming the tech industry into your home to find efficiencies does not make things more efficient. Yours truly, the entertainment business.

Keep calling, keep pressuring, even if your rep votes the way you want them to. Share your appreciation or frustration. Share that you give a shit. Remind them that they represent you.

Me: Can’t wait to post a pic of this bread I baked! [logs on to Bluesky. Reads room. Logs off. Eats bread alone in dark closet.]

The weekly newsletter from my local bakery is the only email I care about. The rest is spam.

This week’s loaf: my take on nussbrot. Sourdough with honey, buckwheat, and hazelnuts. Think I’ll make bratwurst and cabbage tonight with some spicy mustard to go with. (I usually base my menus around what bread we have.) #bakingsky

I know it’s not tops on anyone’s list right now, but jazz festivals have to stop turning the J into a saxophone in their logos.

I am neither shocked nor awed.

Always watch the other hand.

I’ve seen enough.

We could have made history today. The best kind.

Sometimes it all comes together. Pain de campagne. #bakingsky

I’m gonna wait until Campbell’s Creamy Tomato Vape comes out.

hi, cis folks! meet HB28. it's a sports ban on trans athletes. but actually, it's the first step to something much worse—see below. 45 sec call scripts for democrats & republicans in congress follow. if you've been saying you'd stand with trans people, now's the time.🧵 legiscan.com/US/bill/HB28...

Looking forward to this new season. Longworth always picks chapters of history that reflect h’wood’s current state. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/y...

High school son made millionaire bars to celebrate achievement of middle school son. I am proud on multiple levels. #bakingsky

Today’s bake: oat & honey sourdough. This is a great example of simple ingredients coming together to make flavors they have no business making. Pretty to look at, but I never let that stop me from tearing in. #baking #bakingsky

Yup. The system isn't broken. The system is working exactly as designed.

2024 taught me that the revolution will not take place on social media. This isn’t Obama ‘08, or the 2011 Arab Spring. Looking to Meta, X, or even BlueSky for a space to incubate an opposition movement is pointless. We’d stand a better chance on Etsy. We’re going to have to do this one in person.

It’s 2025 so I have to ask, are any of you real?

We got our release date! July 4th weekend 2028. It may seem far away, but in 3 years in animation is like 6 months in live action. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’re cooking up!

Don’t sleep on this gem of a show!

I’ve been sick all week, so I had time to mull things over and mock this up:

Cuchaule and pain de campagne, sourdough two ways. The Swiss brioche on the left is buttery, tinged with saffron, and flavored with orange blossom. The hearty country loaf on the right is nutty with a custard crumb. Both look rustic but the flavors are layered and refined. Unlike me. #bakingsky
