Here's a thread with a brief history of dependency management in Go. For those of you newer to Go, it might surprise you to know that go modules was not always part of the language. When Go launched in 2009, it did not have any dependency management solution as Google had no need for one.

Men will see this and say hell yeah.

What's your favourite tool for managing merge conflicts?

Happy Friday! What are you doing this weekend?

Happy Valentines’s day BlueSky

I’ve been part of this for a good while now. It’s teeny tiny, me and Matt are probably the most active (it’s where I get most of my advice from him!) It’s felt a little quiet lately, so we’d like to expand. Looking for folks who are actively creating stuff. DM Matt 🙏

I have a really small slack community for tech creators where we support each other, give feedback and generally help each other win. I'd like to introduce some more members, so drop me a DM if this is interesting to you.

And it’s released! Instead of course this time, I wrote a bunch of blogs on all the new features, one to your inbox each day for the next week. Sign up here: bytesizego.com/go-124 What's your favourite new feature?

This was fun!

Excited to see this come out! Would love to hear your thoughts on my thoughts about writing.

Looking forward to speaking at Go Ireland later today. I hope to meet some of you there! www.meetup.com/goireland/ev...

byteSizeGo continues to grow month over month. In January we saw 55k unique visitors and 7000 of them on a single day. Nearly all of these visits were to free courses or blogs. byteSizeGo continues to grow month over month. In January we saw 55k unique visitors and 7000 of them on a single day.

For most of us, garbage collection is something we have heard of but never need to pay attention to.However, one of the reasons Go is so efficient and easy to learn is due to its excellent GC. 🧵
