A blast from the past. @patricksearle (hope that’s you, Patrick) - “Vote Day”. Enjoy a listen and remember, you, “Gotta get out and vote today!” www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSRh...

CBC election panel. @browncbc.bsky.social, Scott Collyer, @shawnalewk.bsky.social & I talk: Seinfeld election? Doc shortage, Premier’s foot in mouth syndrome, no news is good news (for local PC candidates), Close races (LNC) +s! We’ll be back Friday to talk results. www.cbc.ca/listen/live-...

~6% of Ontarians cast an early ballot. Ford counted on low voter turnout in #elxn2025. Let's prove him wrong! Your vote & voice matter. Still an undecided voter in #LondonNorthCentre? Check out www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzCy... or reach out to your candidates. Please vote on Feb. 27! #ldnont #onpoli

And I think it’s more than that. The PC Provincial Campaign thinks it’s riskier to let their local candidates speak, than it is for them to skip debates. That should speak volumes to undecided voters.

Week 3 of CBC election panel hosted by @browncbc.bsky.social, @matthewrowlinson.bsky.social, Cheryl Miller & I discuss ups & downs of debate, local PC’s skipping public events & how that might work for PC’s provincially, but hurting local PC’s chances in London and more. www.cbc.ca/listen/live-...

You’re doing some fascinating work re: housing affordability. The best part of shovelling my driveway yesterday was putting on CBC’s Day 6 podcast and hearing you explain math on the radio, which is not an easy thing to do!

As a voter here, I think it’s okay for you to say that Jerry Pribil, the Conservative candidate, is not participating in this opportunity or any others available to debate his opponents with media watching. Why? Because his Party thinks more harm than good will result. How does that sink in, LNC?

I read it and I was so happy to see that you had authored it!

I’m post partisan these days & I’ll keep my LNC vote private. That said, It was pretty rich that Jerry Pribil said in an interview that he couldn’t join the CBC morning debate b/c he needed to spend his time “canvassing”. Door knocking at 8am?? T/Y to you and to all candidates who are showing up!

Our 2nd of 4 provincial election panels hosted by @browncbc.bsky.social Cheryl Miller, @shawnalewk.bsky.social, and I discussed Mr. Ford goes to Washington, The race for 2nd place, Is it getting easier to be Green? and more! www.cbc.ca/listen/live-...

Hi! I’m post partisan these days and will be keeping my vote to myself. I will also make sure that the Green Party is mentioned on London Morning panel for the next 3 weeks. Respect, as always, to you and every candidate who puts themselves out there.

Unfortunately, yes. If PCs receive a majority, they have a strong mandate. Of course low voter t/o favours incumbents & a short elections called mid winter was likely calculated. Even so, folx who disagree w/ govt direction have the responsibility to vote. Staying at home is a vote for status quo.

This is what you’ll get…

Thanks Andrew Brown for inviting me to join the provincial election panel earlier today. Tune in to 93.5 at 8:10am on Tuesdays for the rest of the month. www.cbc.ca/listen/live-...

An important rule in campaigning: All politics are local. Liberal & NDP both broke this rule yesterday. It’s only day three and they can fix it, but Southwestern Ontario is waking up today learning that the massive EV investments might be at risk if they win. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Incredible. If attendance doubles to 120 people after being open for less than 48 hours, London’s current winter response is clearly not enough. 396 beds offered by community partners, plus 120 at East Carling yesterday. Where will these folx go when Carling closes? t.co/d7eRhPOYAs

A very timely @craigneedles.bsky.social Podcast on homelessness in London. Nigel Stuckey, a retired London Police officer with more than 30 years of experience, talks about his new documentary on homelessness and what governments need to do to solve the problem. www.podbean.com/wlei/pb-93hr...

My great grandfather used to say, “You make a decision and then you make it work.” You’ve got this!

Hi, AJ. I appreciated your comments in this article and others as well. Also,I don’t think the transportation staff or anyone on civic administration is to be blamed here. We need to look on the other side of council chamber for that. That’s who develops and approves the vision, strat plan & budget.

On election day in both 2010 and 2014, a Bald Eagle flew over me. I’m not sure what it meant, but I saw it as a positive sign.Today, Lisa and I are enjoying some quiet / together time & this beautiful bird circled, screeched, & landed in a tree. What a way to step into 2025. Happy New Year everyone!

Latest from me. A short piece on the Freeland-Trudeau breakup and what it all means. tl;dr A visit from the Ghost of Christmas Past. geraldbutts.substack.com/p/the-ballad...

Sharing a tradition. I’ve been listen to “The Shepherd” every Christmas Eve for decades. These days you don’t have to tune in to the mothership (CBC Radio 1) between 7&8pm, you can stream it anytime. Lend it your ear.It will be you some Christmas Joy 98 and 3/4’s guaranteed. youtu.be/j2_bLEqmBi0?...

Excellent podcast - this is how folx from across the political spectrum can talk things out and come to consensus. Well done! Too bad this is more of a “Shelbyville idea”.

Thanks Mike Stubbs / AM980 for the call. We talked Budget 2025, council’s Yr 2 of their 4 Year Budget: brief history in time, magic numbers, rabbits and hats, & budget bombs/the challenge of using reserve funds(one time money)to fund ongoing services. open.spotify.com/episode/2eKJ...

“Where are people going to go?”, “More deaths are coming.”, “This is a crisis we are facing.”, “…we have zero winter beds available.” Why is our current city council falling short on a winter response at the very last minute, again this year? lfpress.com/news/more-deat…

“…because city hall is not providing a Winter Response to Homelessness this year.” This is inconceivable. Winter like weather isn’t coming, it’s here and we all know it comes every year. london.ctvnews.ca/there-is-no-...

Grateful more orgs/people in #ldnont are pushing back re: the police budget. The recent narrative by the police chief, select police board/city councillors that it’s only the same few people protesting is dismissive and false. We know it. They know it. We persist fam 👊🏻 🫶🏻 lfpress.com/news/local-n...
