It's so funny to me that the alternative to living in NYC is always south Florida for some reason. Basically interchangeable.

This is posted like it's a gotcha but it's the right thing to tell them, they should support him! If they wanted to oppose him that's why they hold a primary.

Understandable typo, as the term "corps" isn't one that you would see much working in the, uh, military

This is a really smart point about "experience" from @besttrousers.bsky.social, presented as a screenshot of a thread for readability

Not the point at all, but someday, when the dust has settled, we need to talk about how good that logo is

There is a very good chance that the man who said all of the below (Zohran Mamdani) is going to become the Democratic nominee for Mayor of New York City, and I am so incredibly here for it

We should interpret what's happening in New York as a signal about the broader mood in the base and act accordingly as we head for midterms 2026.

Normal countries adapt to insane (and shockingly racist) rantings by steering power away from the executive to other branches of government (parliament, duma, subnational units) but we seem to be steering into giving this guy MORE power.

BUG OUT BAG 🔥🚨☣️ Dangerous times in the world: make sure you are ALWAYS ready with a #bugoutbag #gobag #survivalkit to SURVIVE for 72 hours in the event of a major emergency event or societal breakdown! See what “THEY” don’t want you to know you should have ready for your survival plan!

"less burnout" how has nobody involved in this ever met a baby

"can't bike in Boston because it's so hilly" is hilarious to anyone who has spent time in Boston (Josh Kraft has not)

the thing with Mamdani is that he’s obviously an incredible political talent - the campaign he’s run has been extremely impressive even if you don’t like his policies the party should be delighted, and that they’re instead pulling out all the stops to beat him speaks volumes

I, too, always test my code with RtL language settings before submitting.

Why bother manufacturing consent when you can just criminalize dissent

If you’re an American should watch the Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown ep on Iran. A deeply humanizing look at a country full of people just like you and me. I watched it after Anthony died and it moved in ways that are hard to relay. I also immediately ran out to try kabob koobideh and tahdig.

Okay but why is he making this expression

At least last time they took the time to make a PowerPoint ahead of time.

This is why right now is dumber than thr Iraq runup. There was a year of endless propaganda on top of the war mindset of post-9/11 and Bush at +60% approval. Right now its a historically unpopular president following an unpopular ally into a war nobody wants and he's making zero attempt to sell it

An act of war weeks in planning but unauthorized by Congress against a country that Trump's own director of intelligence testified under oath was not close to getting a nuclear weapon.

Just some creepy armed Mad Max guys trying to gain entry to Dodgers Stadium. ICE says it wasn’t them. DHS says they were Border Patrol. But honestly who the hell knows? They’ve given permission for any psycho to put on a ski mask, point a gun, grab people & throw them into an unmarked vehicle.

"I hate this regime but also don't bomb us" is a feeling that should be incredibly familiar to millions of Americans.

just remembered the funniest ever attempt at a save

ICE agents need to keep their faces covered like this because they're incredibly ugly. You may think you want them to unmask, but as soon as they pop those things off, you're going to be horrified and will ask that they put them back on. It'll only make a bad situation worse.

There’s been an anti-RCV turn among a lot of pundits lately but yeah this is like, a very clear positive, and also imo it’s main advantage over approval voting, which does encourage this.

From an Iranian friend in Tehran, sent just after Trump put out his EVACUATE NOW tweet.

Who is streets? We are streets!

In MA, the home addresses of the candidates are listed on the ballot. I don't have an expectation that it'd be *that* hard to find that information, but maybe a practice worth revising?

I know a lot of people just don't really know much about foreign cities, but please imagine how it would go if someone told all of NYC to evacuate "immediately," and then add two million more people to that scenario

❤️

Two of the three states with the largest population of people in the U.S. illegally are the red states of Texas and Florida. Trump, notably, does not name their cities when calling on ICE to execute more aggressive immigration raids. He does, however, name LA, Chicago and New York.

What people mocking flag discourse refused to get through their head because it was too wine mom-coded is that those arguing that protestors should bring flags were very much aware the flag isn't a shield from police brutality, and understood the optics of exactly what's happening in this photo.

Genie: ok what do you want for your birthday Trump: a military parade, oh, and also millions of people on the street chanting my name Genie: okie dokie

AOC: When they say illegal vs legal immigration—they are trying to end legal status in the US making people undocumented and then they have the audacity to call them illegal when they were here documented.
