When a bee shows up, at a foxglove it starts at the base of the flower then works its way up. Foxgloves have evolved to have its male flowers at the base & the female flowers at the top the bee collects pollen from the lower male flowers then, deposits in the female flowers on the way up. #Foxglove

It's a fine time to be gardening at the moment, apple blossom emerging, Cherry & Pear already out, bumblebees, honey bees & bee flies, getting there fill of nectar & pollen, birds building nests, swallows & house Martins have returned. Keep an eye out for the Ashy Mining Bee. They emerge in the spring & females live alone nesting in bare open soil a key indicator is if you spot a small little volcano like hole.
