This isn't an issue in all Switch 1 games apparently. Fire Emblem Three Hopes renders the UI in 1080p (or at least it looks fine) even though it never got an update. 3D graphics also look fine (not 1080p I don't think however) and it runs at 60 FPS. Very strange.

I was able to pick up a Switch 2 yesterday, haven't really played a ton on it yet but I have some thoughts. 1. The Switch 2 feels and looks more premium than the original. The plastic is nicer, the screen is better, the Joycons are upgraded, the kickstand is usable, etc. You get what you pay for.

DOGE was never about efficiency. It served two purposes: 1. Funneling massive amounts of citizen data to Musk's private enterprises 2. Taking taxpayer dollars to pay Musk and his employees The government fabricated a crisis in order to facilitate this scheme.

So mad that I'm not even seeing a penny of those savings or tax cuts, and that I'll be paying just as much (probably more actually) for worse services. If the government was a subscription, I'd cancel it without a thought.

So I found out about Bazzite which is basically SteamOS but very easy to install on non-Deck devices. And it literally says for dual booting, it's easier to install once Windows is already installed. Didn't have to wipe anything, and for Linux installation was pretty simple. 100% recommend.

Instead of dropping like $2000 I don't really have on a new laptop I'm thinking of getting my Flow X13 with the 7940HS only to dual boot Windows 11 and SteamOS. Only have to figure out how to do it.

I'm not sure how so many people are surprised that the Switch 2 chip is being fabbed at Samsung. It's literally the same node Nvidia used for Ampere and for Orin Nano, which the T239 is based on. If Nvidia had gone with TSMC for Ampere (and that nearly did happen) we'd see a TSMC-made Switch 2 SoC.
