Gonna watch THE CONVERSATION and FRENCH CONNECTION tonight in honor of the legend Gene MF Hackman ❤️

Sitting here in tears, heartbroken but more so inspired by the absolutely incomparable Jane Fonda’s speech at tonight’s SAG Awards. Wow. What an amazing human being. God I hope we can overcome what our country is facing. Thank you Ms. Fonda. For this. For everything.

A few years ago, I asked the horror community here to share their favorite, lesser-known horror films. I took that feedback and created "Off the Beaten Path"--a comprehensive list of horror's favorite overlooked films. Check it out here to find some gems: static1.squarespace.com/static/5ea0a...

This… is amazing. I miss Loews Theaters, given how shitty AMC theaters are these days…

Is it January 20, 2029 yet…? I’ve got fucking whiplash from all the INSANE news every day and it’s a nightmare.

Just watched THE GORGE on AppleTv+ and had a blast. Big congrats to @scottderrickson.bsky.social and @crobertcargill.bsky.social on another absolute banger with suuuper captivating, high-chemistry performances from Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

2024 movies I can’t believe I still haven’t seen: MY OLD ASS (sorry @evanhoytwass.bsky.social) NICKEL BOYS A DIFFERENT MAN BABYGIRL BETTER MAN SEPTEMBER 5 JUROR #2 A COMPLETE UNKNOWN (seeing this Sunday)

Got to watch Oz Perkins’s latest film THE MONKEY last night at an early screening and had a fucking blast. What a batshit crazy, blood-soaked ride — go see it in the theater when it opens wide on Feb 21 🙊🥁🐵🥁

News headlines in this country are progressively more dystopian by the day and I wish I could just bury my head in the sand……

Every writer I know has had someone, if not multiple people, in their life that has told them to be realistic or have a fallback career for when their writing career fails to materialize. Sometimes, that voice even comes from inside you. It's up to you to prove those assholes wrong.

It’s honestly sooooo disconcerting how much shit out there is already fake, AI-generated nonsense, and yet the overwhelming majority of comments from people consuming this content prove they have no fucking clue. We better step up our media literacy game or this world is toast.

inventing a machine to make art for you is like building a robot to fuck your wife

Dammit I can't wait to watch this... and I hate myself for it. Btw all this tells me is that @joerussotweets has too many movies out right now. Share the wealth, you selfish sonofabitch.

Thinking of all my fellow Angelenos today ❤️

This. 💯.

The Golden Globes or: How to Sell Pharmaceuticals to Americans by Bombarding Them With TV Commercials. Seriously, what the fuck. 9/10 commercials during the broadcast have been from pharma. This shit is out of control.

Believe it or not, til last night, I'd never seen BLACK CHRISTMAS (1974). But with its star Olivia Hussey passing, it was time. And wow does it hold up! The killer's psychopathy is genuinely disturbing, and the performances and tone were surprisingly grounded. Film was *way* ahead of its time! 1/2

My top 3 horror films of 2024 are: THE FIRST OMEN SMILE 2 IT LIVES INSIDE What say you? Some fun releases this year!

Insane that Chevy Chase spends the whole movie wishing he could cheat on this woman she should kill him

When I was a kid and Rickey was at the height of his powers, a friend gave me a mailing address in Oakland claiming if I sent my baseball cards to it, Ricky would send them back signed. Leap of faith, but I did it. They came back signed. I still have em. Thx Rickey. RIP to one of the best ever.

Still hoping one day we'll get a TRUE LIES sequel called BORIS AND DORIS where Arnold and Jamie Lee kick ass together...

Watch @joerusso.bsky.social's film or I won't inherit anything when he dies. Also, it's a lot of fun and it's on Hulu today.

Intellectual Property is a dirty word, because it fucked the movie industry.
