“There are good uses for AI at a newspaper, which is why it’s so puzzling that everyone keeps trying to make AI do not those tasks but the ones it is bad at, the ones that we humans most want to keep for ourselves,” @katzish.bsky.social writes:

In Boston, @celinegounder.com is giving a fiery convocation address at Harvard School of Public Health talking about #misinfo in public health: “The current administration is waging a war on science, and that can be seen most clearly on the issue of vaccines.” #IDsky 🧪

It’s ok to feel sick over the state of things.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper criticises the previous Tory government for failing to implement any of the 20 recommendations from a 458-page, 7-year independent report into child sexual abuse which interviewed 7,000 victims, considered 2 million pages of evidence and led to 61 reports/publications

Farage and Yaxley-Lennon are two cheeks of the same rancid arse. For Farage to attempt now to separate his party from the xenophobia, Islamophobia and antisemitism it was constructed upon should raise suspicions with even the most devoted followers.

Another interesting @bmj.com piece for us all this morning. Anita Hannig on the medicalisation of dying and how we would do well to reclaim it as a human event rather than a clinical one. Link: www.bmj.com/content/387/...
