First flowering!

I am thinking of having a go at some Kratky home-hydroponics. Mainly salads and herbs initially. Wish me luck!

I bought a new pump for my fish tank. It has been blending my small fish and shrimp. So that's rubbish.

Gemini has really upped its game. The latest release of bots function really well in everything I've been using them for. I haven't yet tried any complex, creative, reasoning tasks.

Fascinating documentary about citrus: youtu.be/XkMKJCvJKBk?...

Is there a market for pico guppies? I seem to be growing them 1-1.5cm as adults!!!

This is the beginnings of my daphnia culture. Let's see how it goes.

I'm thinking of trying something totally new - a glass bowl no-filter aquarium with daphnia, underwater plants, and some house plants rooted into it from above. Perhaps a cold-water shrimp to keep the daphnia from getting too lonely. As a decorative alternative to green-water daphnia culture jars.

I've watched a ton of aquarium videos now, and people set up these amazing projects, incredible builds, that look stunning. But there's almost nothing showing how their aquarium or bowl ecosystem develops over 6 months or a year or two years. It's all about the builds, not the long-term living.

My tank is back together again. No lost fish! Good excuse to reposition all the hardscaping.

My fish pump died today. So I now have a new pump, some little red shrimp, and extra plants. Expensive.

#wheeloftime #spoiler question 2: who was Nakomi, the proportion Wise One that Aviendha met on her way to be tested? She behaved a bit like a benevolent Chosen.

I have some questions about #wheeloftime - obviously involving #spoilers for those watching instead of reading. 1. Faile,Oliver and The Horn were in the Blasted Lands in book 13. How did they appear in Malden in book 14?

This is about people using remote robotics to participate in work, who otherwise could not. youtu.be/-iLcOLvNfz0?...

I may have another go at PyBlock. My last run ended when I got RSI! Fingers crossed I get past the early game this time. #pY #factorio

Overall, I enjoyed #thewheeloftime. The story structure was good, and the core fantasy mechanics worked well. It had great character-development. I'd definitely recommend it. I have a lot of issues with it, all of which no doubt have been discussed to death, but it was good enough to survive them.

Time to start the Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy. What's the hashtag for this?

I've finally reached an ending. Took me just over 6 months to read the series. I'm glad I did. It is an impressive work. I think I'm going to let it settle for a few weeks before commentary. #wheeloftime

Nearly finished - the Pattern is being unwoven and rewoven. How will it end? #wheeloftime

Here we go then #wheeloftime

Just finished book 13 off #wheeloftime - it was certainly eventful. Onwards to the Last Battle and book 14

I've opened Towers of Midnight. Seems like we're getting to the endgame. #wheeloftime

Saw this and thought of you: youtu.be/yup8gIXxWDU?...

Merry Christmas. I've finnished book 12. On to 13 #wheeloftime

I'm half-way through book 12 of The Wheel of Time and my impressions so far is that this reads like the other 11 if they had gone through a competent (or indeed, any) editing process, and then a minor touch-up to modify out "problematic" content. Much easier to read IMHO. #wheeloftime

Just opening The Gathering Storm, book 12 of the wheel of time. For reasons, I've got a mix of Japanese metal playing - babymetal, hanabie etc. - on in the background.

I've written a #rust benchmark for scanning bytes for particular values. For example, scanning a large file for newlines. I'd appreciate feedback if you have any or know someone who may. github.com/drdozer/benc...
