Rob Dillingham is not a professional basketball player yet.

haha oh shit haha oh no, I think I want to read Infinite Jest

I wish more people were talking about egg prices as less of a “muh egg prices!” thing and more about the fact that there is an organized egg cartel that is illegally price gouging and almost certainly illegally price fixing and reaping massive, gigantic profits.

Hachette will probably sell 50,000 copies of this book to your blue county grandparents. Embarrassing, and sadly effective, cash grab by a multinational publisher.

Made the mistake of saying to my wife—who works for a very large corporation—as I left for the day, "return that investment on shareholder value today!" And now I don't think I'll be welcomed back home.

The Chris Hayes books was exceptionally good. If you like Jenny Odell, or Tim Wu, or other contemporary books on attention capitalism, it's a must read and won't disappoint. Found this new book at the Ramsey County Library and I'm excited to dive in. An exploration of John Rawls' political theory.

Delta would have to pay me a lot more than $30,000 if I survived a plane crash. A LOT MORE

Who the f**k is Johnny Blue Skies???

This book makes me really miss being a bookseller. I want an advanced copy of this so bad.

the thing about due process rights is that you can’t mistakenly fire anyone unless you’re violating their rights

Today is a very big day for the Keliher family's Google Alerts. Congratulations on your retirement Commissioner Keliher. Maine's lobster population thanks you for your service.

Random story I'm remembering: back in 2019 or so, I remember watching a #mnleg committee hearing where some U of M students were advocating for a bill that would have expanded the free light rail campus zone by a few stops in order to add more food access.

Trump DOJ & FTC has now done what Kamala Harris' presidential campaign could not: commit to the Khan and Kanter line of merger review and antitrust enforcement. www.ftc.gov/news-events/...

I get it: people want someone to be mad at and people want "someone" to "do something." But elected officials—especially Democratic ones—do this often. Most people just don't pay attention. Or rather our capitalized attention economies don't allow us to notice. This happens all the time in state gov

These are the people responsible for killing the Border Patrol agent from Minnesota in Vermont last month. apnews.com/article/zizi...

Finished the Chris Hayes books and, yeah, it was a fantastic distillation of all the shit that sucks the most about contemporary curiosity. But it is ultimately hopeful. You should read it and then let's get a beer and talk about it.

As the U.S. struggles with a housing shortage, investors continue to exploit a gap in an affordable housing law to raise rents on 115,000 apartments. Congress has repeatedly failed to act. By @jessecoburn.bsky.social

Seems bad!

Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges. This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

I'm hearing now that *every* technologist CFPB hired to investigate Big Tech was fired this evening. That's somewhere between 70-100 people. wired.com/story/dozens-of-cfpb-workers-terminated-in-after-hours-firing-blitz/

Republicans in the MN House are hearing a bill that would delay the implementation of the paid family and medical leave law that the DFL passed in 2023. And the room is full of people opposed to the delay, sharing heart-wrenching stories about how this benefit is desperately needed.

I think it's important to remember that, if you spend most of your time getting your information from this app, it's easy to ignore this is the current situation:

Dillingham's form on his 3 point shot is terrible. Hopefully they fix it in the off-season.

Went to the @foreignaffairs.com site to read that what I am certain is a ghastly, repugnant defense of neoliberalism by Jason Furman, but I ended up reading this instead. And while there are some dark revelations throughout about America in this political moment. I was left hopeful with this:

The lead researcher on this letter explained his theory to me & it's compelling. There are 5 dominant egg firms & their egg-laying flock was only down about 5% in 2024. That shouldn't necessarily correspond to these price spikes, though things have gotten worse in 2025. farmaction.us/farm-action-...

Just finished: Next up: Really excited to read this new one from @chrishayes1.bsky.social.
