Most humans wouldn’t use a dictionary to calculate the area of a square. Yet this pretty much what this example is doing.

If they're combining Norfolk (i.e. north folk) with Suffolk (i.e. south folk)... shouldn't the new combined entity just be called Folk or maybe something like Allfolk, Twafolk (Twa being Old English for two), or Bathfolk/Batfolk/Bahfolk (baþe being Old English for both).
